     There comes a pinched, breathless gasp of pain as she eases herself down on the seat of the bike, the back of one hand coming up to press against the ridge of her jaw as she shifts her leg around to lift the weight from her pinched wires. Her forehead array glimmers with shame as she does so, and she reaches down, rubbing at her knee.

     “I’m really sorry about this, ma’am,” she starts, voice breaking off with a wince, “I can’t imagine what kind of first impression I’ve made. . . I’ll be alright in a few moments, I just need — ah — a second to sit.”

     — Which wasn’t total dishonesty, really; she would be fine, if she could get through the plating around her knee joint so that she could reach and readjust the wires beneath it, but she’d lost her screwdriver three states ago, and she couldn’t undo the plating without it. Still, though, she hates being an inconvenience, and this woman going out of her way for someone she doesn’t know is — while flattering — mortifying.

     “I, ah. . . Like your bike,” Rain manages to say awkwardly after a second, looking to both make friendly conversation and take attention away from herself.

      HE   KNEW   WHAT   SHE   WAS   A   PART   OF   AT   A   SPARED   GLANCE .          he   thought   he   cleared   up   the   deadlock   gang   and   disbanded   them   to   the   best   of   his   ability ;          and   yet   here   she   stands ,     bearing   the   same   (   OBNOXIOUSLY   WESTERNIZED   )   symbol   of   deadlock .          leader ,     if   he   remembers   the   reports   right .          young   and   gifted   and   horribly   rebellious   would   be   putting   it   lightly ,     but   he’s   worked   with   that   before     ---     an   outlaw   with   nowhere   else   to   go   after   a   gang   torn   apart .

      THE   COMMANDER   HUMS .          perhaps   he   can   pull   this   off ,     just   like   he   did   once   before ,     when   everything   was   smooth   sailing .          her   only   two   options   are   the   same   as   mccree’s ;          if   there’s   a   god   up   there ,      he   hopes   they’re   promising   a   smooth   transition   without   the   two   of   them   at   each   other’s   throats   for   obvious   reasons .

      “          ASHE ,     IS   IT ??          ”          he   flips   a   piece   of   paper   carelessly   to   the   other   side   of   a   clipboard ,     hazel   glancing   up   and   back   down   a   few   times .          “          deadlock   gang   leader ,     troubled   kid ,     got   a   butler   omnic   as   a   bodyguard   and   sidekick .          hmm .          ”          he   glances   to   her   with   an   amused   smile .          “           that’s   a   big   bounty   on   your   head .          ”

      A   LAZY   TOSS ,     AND   THE   CLIPBOARD   IS   BY   ASHE’S   FEET   WITH   PAPERS   OPEN   TO   A   RANDOM   PAGE .          “          blackwatch   found   it   hard   to   gather   info   on   you   to   know   what   we’re   dealing   with ,     but   we   can   thank   a   specific   agent   for   most   of   it .          but   here’s   the   thing ,     ashe ;          you   have   potential .          and   i’d   hate   to   see   that   go   to   waste   with   you   in   a   high - level   security   prison   well   away   from   here .          so ...          ”

      “          I   HAVE   AN   OFFER   FOR   YOU .          ”

        she  only  asks  out  of  pure  curiosity  ---  this ...  phenomena  of  this  old  western  aesthetic  seemed  exuberantly  common,  for  some  weird  reason.   like,  they  had   ROBOTS,  and  MECHS,  and  other  incredible  technological  advancements,  and  then  there  were  people,  openly  COSPLAYING  as  cowboys,  in  THIS  day  and  age ...  needless  to  say,  it  made  hana  just  want  to  know  why.         @viperose   ♡

      GUN FIRE screamed from all directions, guards pale, empty husks littered on the floor, blood splattered on the many holograms littered across the science laboratory. He got word of rebels and gangs having similar interest in the artifact he was hired to received, but it wasn’t until he ghosted through the last set of doors and into the messy scene surrounding the display case. Two large, silver shot guns rose and pointed at the two by the case— some TIN CAN and white-haired dame. ❝ I’ll give you one chance to BACK OFF. ❞
