I did manage to secure my first vaccine the other day.
It wasn’t bad. The clinic I work for are doing weird experiments and charting their experience, diets and regiment, trying to figure out how to mitigate the reaction. My take, I’ve never had covid - if I did at one point, the cells have died out due to my regiment of sterility. The shot wasn’t horrible, it was a first dose and wasn’t up to par with a tetanus shot. The shot site is itchy, but that’s due to the healing, nothing more.
My sister did have her second shot, and there is more of a reaction to it. We gave her water, ibuprofen, and let her wait it out. It was a few hours, and that was it. Her medical background is immune compromised and other health concerns, but check with your own doctor if you’re going to go in for a jab.
The vaccines are a bit scary, due to our lack of understanding and the potential for long term effects - in that regard, this is uncharted territory. But remember, the healthcare workers and doctors have been getting their shots first, so let that be a comfort.
We are in this together, and the doctors do have faith in this vaccine. The alternative, contracting the viremia disease - it is very dire. Especially with the new variants surfacing. In that regard, I would rather chance the unknown’s of the vaccine which doctors trust, to contracting the viremia disease. Recall, viremia does not grant long-term immunity, and there are unknown factors such as how we determine who has fully recovered from the viremia infection. I.e., the body produces antibodies naturally, and that will make the infected feel better, but relapse or reinfection is a high risk following the initial infection. You have a higher chance of a adverse cytokine reaction to untreated covid, than you do from a vaccine finetuned to deal with covid before it takes root.
Two things you must always recall about the vaccine. It will not prevent you from contracting the virus, you are still very responsible for your wellbeing and health. However! It will prevent the virus from incubating, replicating, and nesting in your organs. It short, it prevents the cytokine storm - which is a direct result of the viremia disease hiding and being quiet and gently killing its recipient. Your immune system is trained to recognize the infectious naughti boi and destroy it, before it can get out of control. In theory, it should prevent you from carrying it too far. But it can still be infectious to your family or others, if you become lazy in methods of preventing yourself from contracting the virus.
In this way, it is like a rabies vaccine. Recall, that when a person or an animal contracts rabies, that virus incubates for some time. In that time, the person or animal needs rabies vaccination, to prevent the virus from getting into the neurons of the body and wrecking havoc. Viremia disease is similar to that, if you are not primed or vaccinated for an infection of the viremia disease, it can be disastrous.
That is why I encourage people to sign up or seek the vaccine early. Because if you contract viremia before you can be vaccinated, you cannot get it. In some cases, it can be too late. Like with rabies. Get vaccinated, take your vitamins, wash your hands, always wear your mask.
The second thing about the vaccine, it’s protection is limited and we have no certainty how long it will last. Like the antibodies formed from an infection with viremia, it is an uncertain. Thus, wear your fucking mask.
New vaccines are being designed and tested, one which will have great promise because it does decrease the chances of infection in those you may come into contact with.
What we are looking forward to at this point is herd sterilization. A regiment of vaccination, which will prevent the prolific spread of the viremia disease, because we will kill it in its food source. The blood.
This will take time, as not everyone is trusting the vaccine, and there are religious groups which will refuse vaccination, as with medical assistance, should they become infected. But we will get through this. We have made it this far.
Be strong. Be safe. Maintain your resolve and fortitude. We will reach a time where we will have safety and security.
