“Wormwood is one of the most bitter herbs there is.”
Relatable.
Source. Was looking for reference last night for mandrake and wanted to share this exceedingly flowery friend that turned up.
please look at this ridiculous, amazing nightshade I just learned about on Twitter, it's like someone mashed up the Bittersweet variety i found in the yard with a black metal logo (and pardon the ugly link, it's mobile time): https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solanum_pyracanthos
so I had the urge to start growing some wild hip-bearing roses, and was going to try germinating them from some dried hips i have, but the whole process is a bit nuts
i might try a vinegar soak & the paper towel & fridge thing anyway, just to see if i can manage it (it’s about as much song & dance as mandrake looks like only far less fuss once it’s growing, so, practice with fusspants plants?) but holy fuck, that’s obnoxious and finding somewhere to take some cuttings would be so much more preferable
i said i wasn’t going to start new plants this year because space, but i was wrong
can anyone point me at someone who's written about doing the plant familiar thing with carnivorous plants? my apartment's climate would make it very difficult to raise one myself, winter heating's made it seriously parched & i mostly wanted to see if it's been done at all.
Build a kitchen still easy instructions. Distill essential oils at home. Home distillation instructions.
looking at making a lacquer from frankincense and some other stuff, after revisiting this post, and I found this link, which looks generally useful for a lot of resin-adjacent crafting.
