You’ve never really thought about it before.
You’re a renegade knight, a bug in a system you don’t even know about just yet. As ridiculous as it sounds, you’re missing most of your memory. You woke up in some field ages ago, wearing the same armor you’re wearing now, and since then all you’ve really been able to do is travel. Defeating enemies, gaining new items… but it doesn’t feel right.
When you sleep, you feel like you should know the human in your dreams. He’s wearing a red sweater, calling out for you.
“Where are you?” You’re right here, you try to shout, but your voice doesn’t work. You try to run toward him but your legs won’t move. He just keeps calling out, asking where you are, begging you to- to wake up, you don’t know what he means- so when you do wake up, there are bright red tears streaming down your face and you don’t really know why.
You don’t know why you stepped in when you saw someone you’ve never met about to get his ass handed to him by high-level enemies. Well. Is it someone you’ve never met? You don’t know. You don’t know where you’ve seen him- and then it hits you. He’s the one from your dreams. When you see each other’s faces, you both do a double take. He’s the human from your dreams, but it’s more than that somehow. There’s something else there, something that makes you want to hug him and never let go- which seems unlike you. But he just stares at you in shock, and a whispered word escapes his lips.
