Rewatching Minecraft Diaries after 6 years has been such an impactful experience for me
Like, This show was so formative in my life: aph’s Minecraft Diaries Origins series—specifically the Mo’ Creatures Mod fairy horse and wyvern episodes—are what got me into Minecraft java in the first place; Mystreet and Mystreet Phoenix Drop High got me into undertale and into my first anime Toradora (other than whatever the heck “midori days” was on Pinterest YouTube don’t judge me I was sheltered). I was there for the OG laurmau and garmau shipping wars—my first ever fandom experience. Eventually, I stopped watching after the roleplays stopped coming out. Skipping a few years, my aphmau phase faded from my memory. That is, until last year at summer camp where another girl and I bonded over mcd
This year I decided to watch mcd again. I sat down, searched up the series on YouTube, pressed play, and- ? There are no voice actors ? Every episode is shot in one take ?? THE SASHA EPILOGUES ??? I was stunned. It was nothing like I imagined yet everything I remembered all at once. I’m now on episode 78 and man has it been a wild ride. I’m so glad to be reimmersed in the lore and the mcd community again after so long.
