- Hindu Cosmology (5) –

Dvapara Yuga

This is the third yuga in order. In this age, people become tainted with qualities, and aren't as strong as their ancestors. Diseases become rampant. Humans are discontent and fight each other. Vedas are divided into four parts. People still possess characteristics of youth in old age. 

Average lifespan of humans is around a few centuries. There are 1 half virtue and 1 half sin. Normal human stature is 7 cubits (11 ft, 2 inches). Average human lifespan is 1,000 years. All people in the Dvapara Yuga are desirous of achievement of the scriptural dharma that is prescribed to each class, valiant, courageous and competitive by nature and are engaged only in penance and charity. They are kingly and pleasure-seeking. In this era, the divine intellect ceases to exist, and it is therefore seldom that anyone is wholly truthful. 

As a result of this life of deceit, people are plagued by ailments, diseases and various types of desires. After suffering from these ailments, people realize their misdeeds and perform penance. Some also organize Yagya for material benefits as well as for divinity.

ドヴァパラ・ユガ

3番目のユガ。この時代、人々の資質は汚され、祖先ほど強くはない。病気が蔓延し、人間は不満を抱き、互いに戦っている。ヴェーダは４つに分裂した。人々は老いても若さに執着を抱く。人間の平均寿命はほんの数世紀である。

ドヴァパラ・ユガ は、 徳が2分の1、罪が2分の1を占める。人間の平均身長は7キュービット(約3m強）、平均寿命は約1000年になる。 ドヴァパラユガの人々は皆、それぞれの階級に定められたダルマの聖典の達成を望み、苦行と奉仕にのみ生き、本質的に勇敢で負けず嫌いな特徴を持つ。彼らは王者であり、遊び好きである。神の知性は、この時代に存在しなくなる。したがって、誰も完全に誠実であることは殆どない。

この偽りの生き方の結果、人々は病気、そして様々なタイプの欲望に悩まされることになる。これらの病気に苦しんだ後、人々は自分の悪行に気づき、悔い改め、物質的な利益と神性のために供犠を行う人々もいた。

Tvaster

In the historical Vedic religion, Tvastr is the artisan god or fashioner. The Purusha Sukta refers to the Purusha as Tvastr, who is the visible form of creativity emerged from the navel of the invisible Vishvakarma. 

Purusha Sukta and the tenth mandala of the Rigveda, his character and attributes are merged with the concept of Hiranyagharbha/Prajapathy or Brahma. 

Both Prakriti (female gender) and Purusha (male gender) put together become Brahman : the Absolute.

Tvastr, is the heavenly builder, the maker of divine implements, especially Indra's weapon called Vajra and the guardian of Soma. 

Travstr is mentioned 65 times in the Rigveda and is the former of the bodies of men and animals,' and invoked when desiring offspring, called garbha-pati or the lord of the womb.

Hiraṇyagarbha means literally the 'golden womb' in Sanskrit, poetically translated as 'universal womb' is the source of the creation of universe or the manifested cosmos in Vedic philosophy as well as an avatar of Vishnu in the Bhagavata Purana.

In classical Purāṇic Hinduism, Hiraṇyagarbha is the term used in the Vedanta for the "creator". Hiraṇyagarbha is also Brahmā, so called because it is said he was born from a golden egg, while the Mahābhārata calls it the Manifest. Some classical yoga traditions consider Hiraṇyagarbha as the originator of yoga, though this may also be a name for Rishi Kapila.

トヴァシュトリ

トヴァシュトリとは、ヴェーダの宗教における、世界で最初に生まれた創造主である。プルシャ讃歌はプルシャをトヴァシュトリと呼んでいる。

そこでのトヴァシュトリは、不可視のヴィシュヴァカルマンの臍から出現した、創造の力の目に見える形態である。リグ・ヴェーダ第10巻において、トヴァシュトリの特徴と属性は、ヒラニヤガルバ／プラジャーパティまたはブラフマーの概念に吸収された。

トヴァシュトリは天界の工匠であって、神々のための道具、特にインドラの武器・ヴァジュラの制作者である。そしてまた神酒ソーマの守護者である。

トヴァシュトリはリグ・ヴェーダの中で65回言及され、胎児が望まれたときにその力を発揮する人類や動物の肉体の形成者であり、ガルバパティ (garbha-pati) または「胎の主」と呼ばれる。

ヒラニヤガルバとは、サンスクリット語の直訳では「黄金の子宮」を意味しており、インドのリグ・ベーダの賛歌に説かれる世界創造の原因。太初に現れ万有の唯一なる主宰者となった。天地を安立し，山や海を生じ，神々の生気となり，神々および生類を支配し，世界の秩序を維持する。特に「神々の上に位する唯一神」であることが強調されている。

伝統的なヨガでは、ヒラニヤガルバをヨガの創始者と考えられている。しかし、仙人カピラの名前という説もある。

Vishnu (ヴィシュヌ, Vishunu #Vishnu #ヴィシュヌ #Vishunu Vishnu is one of the primary deities in the Hindu pantheon. He is called The Preserver and is known for a kindly demeanor and genuine interest in the welfare of humanity. In the Hindu religion, Vishnu the Preserver is one of the three principle deities of the Trimurti (Hindu Triad) along with Brahma, the Creator, and Shiva, the Destroyer. He was first seen in early Vedic mythology as the god that assisted Indra in defeating Vritra and is now the supreme deity within Vaishnavism, a branch of Hinduism that focuses on the worship of Vishnu. As the preserver, Vishnu maintains balance within the world, and at the end of our current aeon he will appear as his final avatar Kalki and judge whether mortals have been good or evil. After this, the universe will end and creation will start anew. He is depicted with up to four arms, blue skin, holding a chakra wheel, a lotus flower, a mace and a conch, and rides on the back ofGaruda. He also sleeps on the back of a great naga named Ananta Shesha. Vishnu's first prominent appearance in later Hindu mythology was in the form of his first avatar, the fish Matsya, where he warned the first human, Manu, about a great flood that was soon to come and to tow his ship full of plants and animals to the mountains where they would avoid the high water levels. After this he appeared in many incarnations, both as humanoids and animals, throughout Hindu tales. Probably the best known incarnation of Vishnu was within the Hindu epic Ramayana, where he appeared as the hero Rama who set out to save his wife Sita from the rakshasaking, Ravana. He is the husband of the goddess Lakshmi in all her incarnations and has ten personal incarnations starting with Matsya and ending with Kalki. He may also be worshipped in the form of Harihara, the perfect fusion of Vishnu and Shiva.
