i think, if you don't mind me doing so in writing here, that yinxuan is delightfully established as a concept in idfs. and one would hope that people would read that first, and i don't really understand why anyone wouldn't, especially if you mark it as part of a series, but there's all kinds of link clickers out there... and maybe it would be nice to spend some time on yinxuan. more work, but maybe the enjoyable kind?

you make some salient points 🙂‍↕️ and of course i would be continuing the glorious work on yinxuan!!! some things im keeping in mind rn

- I really really want at least a scene devoted to yy waking up as a ghost and hx + hc being the first people to see him. I want at least hx to teach him how to ghost about ..... OH maybe this will be a flashback scene as yy is watching hx teach child soldier 1 (who kind of has a name now btw!! or one part!! Méi [梅] will be in there) how to do ghostly things even as a human

- related to point 1, hx's gonna feed yy ghosts. for my personal enjoyment

- my main issue rn is I have a lot of Scenes and a developing plot for the 4th quarter but everything else is vibes rn. I don't know how to get from point A to Point Z

- kinda hoping that i find a chengyu or opera title or song or ANY line that is the equivalent of "blood is thicker than water" bc with a little tweaking that could have a good concept but I want it to be drawn from Chinese culture, not the [as shifu calls it] "Occidental" traditions

- unlike fic1, which at its core is a romantic story with mystery elements (yes, despite all the other shenanigans, the relationship IS the main plot / driving force), fic2 is actually the Opposite, where the focus is on the plot. I think that structure fits well for yinxuan bc neither of them are romantic people at all, they're both jaded and avoidant, so the whole narrative itself cannot fathom the notion (unlike, say, the obvious denials and elisions that mq's narration was known to perform. you can only avoid something if you know it's there!)

- I'm sure there's a way so that fic2 can be read on its own but will definitely be enriched with further context from fic1, I just haven't unlocked it yet

- the cameos. jesus fucking christ the cameos. guys it's set in the North and meimei's fighting people in high positions of power, who worship powerful martial gods. guys, pei ming's in this. and that's not even the craziest cameo we have

- I have to invent so many people to kill. you thought li shun was violent but most of that was for show. now let's see what real, efficient, ruthless bloodlust looks like ☺️

- there will be a syllabus this time. movies, books, operas, YouTube videos, documentaries, and of course my beloved articles. I am not even joking you're all doing research with me and you're gonna learn to like it

im being so careful not to give anything about fic2 away but LET me just say yy you CANNOT avoid your conflicts with other people by just hiding out ..... it did not work for qyz and it will definitely not work on a supreme who has 300+ years experience at stalking and scheming

idle dreams: what if you had so much desire coursing through you at all times but you never learned how to deal with it except with repression but it does such a pisspoor job that it almost consumes you?

as of yet unnamed yx spinoff: what happens in the aftermath of you getting what you want only for it to taste like ash in your mouth? what do you live for when you don't know what you want, or that you are even capable of wanting?
