Work ended late, now I CAN’T SLEEP like this 2010 painting. Work’s been busy but I’m still enjoying it. Finally getting around to refilling the nursing bag with art cards. I have been throughly surprised how many art lovers are out there and my art in particular. They really do come from all walks of life. The kids want to show their parents, the parents want to know if they can bring their kids over for a studio visit, the grandparents know time is of the essence and want a story for the family, and quickly! Some with already great collections I can compliment, others with nothing but blank walls and personality and with that, potential! Been able to conduct a few sales too but only on their insistence, I like to keep things professional. Everybody seems to at least enjoy knowing though, they tell their friends, they tell their families. My colleagues have been so great too, they tell everybody! Some don’t find out until it happens naturally in conversation, others know prior to arrival. That’s the thing with art and nursing too I guess, you just never know what’s gonna be around the corner, I like to arrive prepared. Touching up my Self Portrait As A Horse doing some colour matching. 1 part white, 1 smidge of blue and a 1/4 smidge of yellow for the art conservatists. Completed the year before I graduated nursing school as evidenced by the black outlining and all the pressure on my back. It’s that time of year! My work LOVES to send me to all the people requesting for a Cantonese speaking nurse.
