Left: 

“My parents elpoed to Elkton in 1926 and were re-married by a Rabbi later on. 

I borrowed a dress from a cousin and was married in my mother’s living room with 30 people, 2 rabbis and a cantor. I had a small trousseau and still have the satin pouch filled with handkerchiefs. We were married 62 years.” -Sara Fishman

Right: 

“Aug. 24, 1952. Rabbi Bak’s Living Room. 96 degrees, No Airconditioner. Room for 30 Guests. 70 Came. Some stoon on porch and looked through the windows. Groom wore heavy blue flannel suit, Bride could not walk around groom - too crowded, but she was Beautiful. Movies came out double exposed. 

After ceremony, all walked four blocks to lawn party. Friends who were supposed to take couple to train station - “kidnapped” them and drove them all the way to Atlantic City. They then drove back to Baltimore All night! We will celebrate our 65th anniversary next Month.” -Herta and Art Baitch

"2/18/1984 Civil ceremony in England. My mother broke her ankle trying to cross the yard to fix my veil. My husband thinks this brought us good luck! Almost 34 years and still in love." -S & M Gillis.

Left: “Got married 1st time in Maryland. Got married 2nd time to each other on our 1st anniversary in Naigara Falls, NY. Getting married 3rd time in Vegas on our 5th anniversary, with baby in tow!” - Alex and Yana

Golden Anniversaries and Beyond: More comments from our Just Married! Wedding Stories from Jewish Maryland visitors!

Left: “We were married at Beth Tfiloh Synagogue on June 11, 1944. My husband, Bobby, was in the service and the same night had to report to a Coast Guard base at Newport News, VA. We just celebrated our 73rd anniversary.” -Ruth and Bobby Taubman

Right: “I was married 6/25/55, a Sat. nite. The ceremony was scheduled for 9pm. Hoever, no one thought the florist [unreadable] could come in until after Shabbat. My 150 guests watched as the florist constructed the Chuppah, decorated the aisles, etc. It was always spoken of as “the 1st act before the floor show,” - we finally got married @ 10:00.” - Marcia S.

Top: “David and I were married in the backyard of his mother Judy Harris’s house in June 15, 1969. It rained (poured) immediately after we said I do and all the guests had to go into the dining room for the rest of the affair! Rain myst be good luck because we’re still married and still in love. - IDY Harris

Bottom left: “My parents got married 21 years ago! They got married at an outdoor chuppah and it was very hot outside, and I am here today, 7/25/207 to wright this. By Heshy Stal.

Bottom right: “We were married in Nov. 1996 at Beth Jacob. An amazing day to the start of a wonderful life. -Robert and Risa”

Today's #JustMarried visitor comment is a chilly one! 

"I was married on January 9th, 1981. We chose January because my husband was on break from graduate school. When we arrived at the church they forgot to turn on the heat and it was 15 degrees outside with snow flurries! It didn't start to warm up until we left for the reception!" - Janice Mercado

aww thanks! that’s so sweet ^_^ I’ve just been very busy with my second term of grad school right now and haven’t really had the time to do much with this blog lately which makes me sad.
