Ok so ive decided to share what’s on my slimeknight playlist right now (part one because i can only have so many audios per post)

Ok so I don’t have as good reasoning for this one cuz it’s just more of a vibe ig…

This is mainly for the “if I could see you, once more too see you”, but I think these all fit pretty well like after derek sacrificed himself

Omgg this song just works so well for them I feel. Like der sacrificing himself for Avery (and the whole world ig😒) so he could live his life freely

“I wish you could know me, and I wish I could know you much more sometimes”, from Derek’s perspective?? Like hello?? he know everything about Avery, but he never got to actually KNOW him, and Avery didn’t get to know anything about derek other than his name :(((

So this one isn’t tooooo accurate, but the overall vibe of having a loved one who isn’t here anymore is definitely very apparent in this song. I think it works especially well for slimeknight because I feel like after all that happened, Avery probably would’ve become quite depressed after losing derek, especially if he didn’t have anyone else (hence “but the emptiness withdrew me from any kind of wishful prayer).

I’ve used this reasoning before, but if derek would’ve stayed, then Avery likely would’ve become the kings vessel, bringing him insurmountable levels of pain. “And ive been burning for you baby since the minute i left”, i feel like this works better if it was “since the minute you left”, but you can still see the vision i feel like
OH but “I was your starry-eyes lover and the one that you saw” derek really did see avery, he was the only one who could truly see all of who avery was </333

avery really can’t move on :( he barely knew this man yet was willing to try to find a different way, a way where he would survive this. he was willing to put himself in danger if it meant derek wouldn’t meet his end :( “and I’ll take it all, babydoll, whatever’s been, weighing you down”.
