I have a ‘floater’, an anomaly in the clear gel in my left eye that casts a shadow on my retina.

It looks like a mosquito, hovering inches from my face,

It looks like the karaoke ball when i read text, bobbing and jerking all over the line.

It looks like a hole in space that lingers in the corner of your eye, ready to suck in the rest of your vision.

It makes me want to claw my eye out of my face.

When it comes to vision:

Part of me really hopes that one day they can fix my optical nerve and I can see things like a normal person.

But the other part of me knows that then I will never be able to paint the way I do now if that ever happens.

I so envy you all. What is it like to look at a photo, or graphic, or .gif and see it in two dimensions. What is it like to look at a dry erase board and not have the text float out at you. To not find yourself having to look away from things because just a few seconds causes your head to start screaming at you.

And part of me knows that noone else will ever truly be able to properly view my art. I know what my art looks like. But you, the viewer, you will never get to see it the way it was meant to be scene.
