The guitar solo that Vitto Bratta does in White Lion’s “When the Children Cry” has to be one of my favorite, if not most favorite, guitar solos of all time. It’s not very long, but it fits the pace of the song perfectly while adding a mournful sound with just enough grit to remind you that this is a metal band playing a ballad and not just something you’d hear on an adult contemporary station. I love playing this song when I play live but don’t even attempt the solo since who can hold a candle to the original? :). I perhaps should try to figure out a way to convert it to acoustic since I usually finger pick the song on an acoustic guitar. Anyway, such a great example of a solo that complements the song it was created for while adding to it instead of providing an opportunity for the lead guitarist to showboat /masterbate on stage through music lol. Plus, the words of the song are just as true today as they were in 1987. . . . . . #whenthechildrencry #whitelion #vittobratta #guitar #guitarsolo #electricguitar #monsterballads #ballad #glam #80smusic #80smetal #heavymetal #bighair80s #glamrock #leadguitar
