Medicine degree getting in the way of viva prep now that term has started again, but I love pain clinic and my consultant so I can’t be too mad :)

Finished off my methods deep dive and started writing model answers to more overall conceptual potential questions and I’m shitting bricks a little 🙃

Viva prep #1: Reading over the thesis and all I keep thinking is "who the hell wrote this and why am I reading it?"

I’m back with some posts about revising! I have synoptic vivas in a week (aaaaah) that cover all of what we’ve done in the degree so far, so I’m doing my best to review all year 1 and 2 topics for EVERYTHING so that I’m well prepared. They’re only 10 minutes each for organic inorganic and physical, which is somewhat calming, but it’s still terrifying that I’ll have to know so much, and only a small amount will come up. I also need to do well, since, as some of you might remember, I did quite badly in my January exams, and I’m trying to pull off a first this year anyways since I want to apply to a good graduate school in the US. So things are stressful, but not nearly as much as before exams, plus I’m pacing myself and only working 4 ± 1 hours a day. Ah well. Onwards, as always!

Viva prep #2: onto reading the next chapter. So far it's less rough than I remember. Have no idea what is considered "good academic writing." Or what is "good enough for a PhD." Maybe I'm out of practice?
