Heading into the final stretch… it’s been a tough semester but I learned a lot and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
07.05.26. i have been enjoying a relaxing admin week after i submitted my annual progress review last friday! lots of coffee, pastries, and a new cinnamon, honey + chamomile tea i have discovered that i <3. i also finished a collection of victor hugo’s verse yesterday at a coffee shop and it has made me excited to read more french poets
15.05.26 - Study session at the deutsches museum library
Love it here because its green, and quiet + good parking opportunities and i absolutely adore the deutsches museum shop. Could leave a ton of money there.
I booked one of the few study desks with recharge opportunity and enjoy the slight wind coming in from the isar river which flows right by.
October 2025
We have hit the definitive grind point of the semester. I've been surviving with the assistance of Pomodoro study with me videos... genuinely game changing.
This week has been almost exclusively reading Judith Butler and studying for a statistics exam. So, not my favorites. But it has been a nice reminder that I just enjoy the act of studying, so I am looking forward to when I can get back to focusing on my research.
#100DaysofProductivity — Day 13
another day, yet another mention of franny choi. i’ve come to realise that my work tends to center around two main poets and idk how to feel about that ? because i genuinely don’t know if it’s because i like them or it’s because i haven’t looked around enough to find new ones. idk if this makes sense (im just rambling here) but it’s definitely related to my impostor syndrome acting up :/ anyway
survived my first year of grad school & I have the photos to prove it 🤞
Lessons From my First Day as an English PhD Stduent
i’ve officially begun my phd! i haven’t shut up about it on substack and i feel like i need to bring in back to my roots on tumblr where I first began as a highschool student entrenched in studyblr and later that sweet dark academia aesthetic. if you’re interested in knowing more abt grad school or following along on this journey, you can read all about it here: https://open.substack.com/pub/scholarlyhermit/p/lessons-from-my-first-day-as-an-english?r=3n75bv&utm_medium=ios
