Better Late Than Never...? || Ino

He didn't have school or any cases that day so he was able to sleep in, something he hasn't been able to do in a long time. However, when he finally did wake up, around two in the afternoon, he found he didn't have any more coffee. Of course things just couldn't work out perfectly, something just had to be wrong. 

Though he supposed things could have been worse. All he had to do was got to the cafe to get some coffee and then stock up on more on the way home. Unfortunately by the time he got to the cafe, it was overflowing with people. Sighing and getting in line, the detective prepared himself for a long wait. It was late in the afternoon and a good twenty minutes since he woke up, but he just couldn't fully function without his coffee. 

While he was waiting he spotted blond hair out of the corner of his eye. Turning to the person automatically, he saw Ino, the girl who was excited about her birthday a few days ago. Shinichi felt a bit of guilt creep up on him for not wishing the girl a happy birthday on her actual birthday, but it wasn't his fault really. He didn't even make it to school that day since a case held him up for most of the day. So it really, really wasn't his fault or anything...

After watching the girl for a bit longer, he sighed before getting out of line, just two spaces before his turn, and went to talk with Ino. Why, he wasn't sure. He didn't even know the girl that well, but he still felt a bit bad for missing her birthday. 

Once he reached the other, he stopped and scratched his cheek awkwardly. Why did he think this was a good idea... "Ahh, hey...so...how was your birthday?"

Budding Friendship // Ino and Ran

It was long past the final bell at Spica, but one girl remained behind in classroom 2-B. Head bowed, hair falling over her face, one would thing that she might have just fallen asleep or something unless they were very quiet. Then they would hear it.

The sounds of Ran Mouri crying.

She couldn't make herself leave the classroom to find somewhere more private to unleash her tears. She just couldn't control herself, and it had her cry even more, partly in anger and partly in sorrow.

And who was the reason for her sorrow? One Shinichi Kudo, of course. After disappearing for over a month, ran had been terrified. For that horrible month, she'd been back in Beika, wondering where her best friend had gone, or if he was even still alive. And when the idiot had returned earlier that day, he offered no explanation as to where he'd been or why he'd disappeared. And when Ran tried to confront him at the end of the school day, Shinichi had bluntly brushed off her concerns, warning it that it had nothing to do with her.

That was when she'd run off, overcome with anger, fear and sadness. Shinichi had disappeared, he'd been short with her, he'd just--! She know she shouldn't have been so upset, but after a month of worrying herself sick over her best friend, it had all just ended up coming out in one uncontrollable burst!

Sniffling, Ran jumped as the ajar door to the classroom suddenly opened fully. Turning her head, her heart skipped a beat. Had he come to apologize? "Shinichi, you--"

Ah, no. It was a girl Ran recognized  and shared some classes with. How embarrassing that she'd see her like this! Just her luck. "A-ah, Yamanaka-san. I didn't realize you were still in school..."

π = My biggest fear: Not a fear anymore per se, but I REALLY hate anything to do with injections or IVs. >.o Also, after my last flight, slighlty wary of flying over the North Sea...I think I lost 10 years of my life freaking out over that turbulence. OTL

θ = My biggest pet peeve: Right now, NO-ONE doing the dishes and letting them sit in the sink for the better half of a day. Now I know how Mum feels. >A<
