DPOCweek, Day one: Daily Life.
"Hawkeye! No!" Vivada veered around an errant door, eyes narrowing as her newest bird steered into a library.
Hawk had been the most difficult to tame. The rest always listened to her, but Lightning was jealous, and when Lightning was jealous, well...
He'd nipped at Hawk, and Hawk had darted away.
Vivada landed on the library's steps, ruffling her wings before knocking.
A purple ghost girl in a blue dress with pure blue eyes answered.
Vivada cleared her throat, before gently singing "Vivada.~" She paused, pointing in. "My bird...~"
"Oh, that was your bird?" The girl laughed. "We thought it was a bit absurd. Come in, come in, but hurry fast- Ghostwriter's not fond of visitors entering who haven't asked."
Vivada entered after the girl. She'd never been in this particular lair before- it looked cozy, if a bit claustrophobic compared to her forest.
"Who're you?" Vivada asked softly, and the girl turned.
"Oh, silly me! We don't get visitors too often, you see. My name is Muse." She bowed slightly, lavender hair bouncing slightly.
Vivada whistled, and Hawkeye flew back to her shoulder from around one of the shelves.
"Lightning's outside, and he'll behave." Vivada told the bird, and Hawk shuffled his feet before nuzzling his beak into her neck. "There we go."
"Not to intrude, but your singing- it's lovely. Did you learn, or are you just lucky?"
"Ember helped me.~" Vivada admitted, singing softly. "My voice isn't the best.~"
"Oh, isn't Ember a gem? Whenever her band comes by, I listen to them." Muse glanced up, eyes a million miles away.
"We talk at least once a week.~" Vivada said, and Muse's mouth suddenly fell open a bit in surprise.
"Really? Can you take a message for me?"
"All right~" Vivada quirked up an eyebrow, holding up her hand to let Hawkeye settle on her glove instead.
"I love her music, and she's an idol of mine!" Muse leaned closer, as if about to suggest something simply scandalous. "Plus, her outfit's divine." She giggled.
"I'm sure she'll be happy to hear it." Vivada said with a grin. She didn't sing it, but to her credit, Muse barely flinched.
"Oh, your voice is fine, dear. You don't need to always sing if it's my rejection you fear."
Vivada genuinely smiled at that.
"Mind if I ever come back?"
Muse's eyes lit up. "Oh, not at all!" She bowed again, more deeply. "Muse here, at your beck and call." She waved as Vivada turned around and floated out.
She leaned against the doorframe, watching the other ghost girl fly away without realizing the small doodle hearts forming next to her head.
