Book Review
Viveca Sten: Still Waters (Sandhamn 1). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Scandinavian Literature, Mystery, Crime Fiction, Suspense-Thriller. Pub 2008
Blurb: On a hot July morning on Sweden’s idyllic vacation island of Sandhamn, a man takes his dog for a walk and makes a gruesome discovery: a body, tangled in fishing net, has washed ashore. Police detective Thomas Andreasson is the first to arrive on the scene. Before long, he has identified the deceased as Krister Berggren, a bachelor from the mainland who has been missing for months. All signs point to an accident—until another brutalized corpse is found at the local bed-and-breakfast. But this time it is Berggren’s cousin, whom Thomas interviewed in Stockholm just days before. As the island’s residents reel from the news, Thomas turns to his childhood friend, local lawyer Nora Linde. Together, they attempt to unravel the riddles left behind by these two mysterious outsiders—while trying to make sense of the difficult twists their own lives have taken since the shared summer days of their youth.
My review: This was a great start - to the Sandhamn series - set in a location I’m interested in. Clear and interesting writing, fine characters, a satisfying mystery-thriller. I enjoyed it and will continue reading this series.

These are the next 10 books I borrow on Amazon Kindle Unlimited.
I “loved” the first chapter of “What You Did” by Claire McGowan but when I read the next chapters I knew that I need to read the book when I’m holidays. I’m very tired for the moment and this book starts very slow which is expected … so I’m afraid that I’m not in the right condition to read it. I prefered to do it when I’m on holiday because I’ll be less tired and more ready to follow this slow pace if you understand what I mean … When you’re very tired, the slow pace of book push you more to sleep than to read the story that’s why.
Of these 10 books, I already read 3 of them and you can see my reviews in my wrap up.
By the way, the cover of the book “This For That” by Bella Jewel … I LOVE it!!! I’m so impatient and curious to read it.
Życie ludzkie mogło się tak różnie układać. W jednej chwili pływasz po dalekich morzach, a w następnej jesteś chory, naznaczony śmiercią.
