Today I’m talking about “Whisper” from VIXX LR!
OMG this song. I have so many thoughts and feels!
First off, how good do these boys look? Super good, right? I just love that the outfits were simple and the red/blue theme just looks so good in this video.
The video starts off with Leo and Ravi sitting down and doing their own thing. Leo puts a record on (a red record, which looks so cool) and the song begins. Instantly you see the red/blue theme while Ravi is at a car looking in the trunk that is filled with tons of flowers and the record player. Youthen see Leo in a blue room with a piano and lots of blue yarn pulled everywhere to create this kid of spider-web like effect, just with straight yarn instead of yarn in circles. Very cool.
Ravi kicks in with his rap and OMG I LOST IT. I still freak out over it. That rap is SO GOOD. I gotta say that I really love how the song became so stripped down, too. Plus the red interrior of the car is an added bonus to the red/blue theme for me.
Leo then comes in with the chorus and man can he hit those high notes like it’s nothing. YES PLEASE. The way he sings just seems so effortless and I love it.
Now, Leo is my VIXX bias, but oh man oh man oh man is Ravi a bias wrecker. At least, that’s how it was when the song began. Am I a Ravi bias person now? I DON’T KNOW. I’M SO CONFUSED.
Ravi comes back in with the rap, Leo then comes back in with the chorus. Simple pattern. Still loving it.
THEN LEO comes in with the bridge. GAH. This part made the song for me. Again, effortless by Leo. Ravi comes in with a small rap over Leo’s singing and it just makes the bridge!
The final chorus comes in and the track bumps up the bass bringing this song to a new high point! Loved it!
Now, the video. I loved the red/blue theme. Loved. It. The addition of the earphones was great! Showing the left and right sides as different colors. (Get it? L and R?) Lets talk about the scene everyone is talking about. LEO GRABS RAVI AND PULLS HIM IN CLOSE. WHY YOU ASK? TO PUT AN EARPHONE IN HIS EAR. Not what everyone probably wanted (Yes, I’m talking to you fangirls), but it happened. I died. DIED. What was happening?! Why are they so close?! What kind of fanservice is this?! &%%^$*!!!!
Anyway, the blue and red theme is present through yarn in the entire video as well as their clothes. Why yarn? Well, at the end of the video you see them tied together with the yarn, in opposite colors, by their feet. Is this meaning they have a new understanding of eachother? Are they bound by fate? What does this mean? I’ll let you look up some fan theories and let you decide on that one.
