Mid-Engine Subaru 🇯🇵😳 ______________________________________ Ok we though this was a joke two years ago but it’s not...Two years ago a rumor came out that Subaru is working on a mid engined BRZ looking sports car with hybrid motors up front but the company quickly squashed the idea....but now it’s back, just around the time where they are supposed to be unveiling a “concept” that previews the car! The Prototype has been testing at the Tochigi proving grounds! 🔥Since literally no info is known, I would expect a turbo or twin turbo flat 4 in the mid with the two electric motors to make close to 400HP! The rumors say that a 1.6L Flat 4 paired to the motors would make 330HP 🔥 Apparently, Subaru is considering it based off their non stop growth and growing demand in the US for an STI/performance model! The Hybrid part of the rumor makes sense as Subaru is about to launch a new hybrid Crosstrek as well as a new dedicated Hybrid model! Subaru Viziv Concept

Starting in 1901, Nikola Tesla performed research on a system he designed that was an experimental wireless transmission station.   He intended to use it to transmit messages, photographs, communications, light, and electricity all over the world without the need for wires to carry them. 

He ran out of funding when his backer, J.P. Morgan, refused to support the project and it was abandoned in 1906.   The 187 foot tall “Tesla tower” that was under construction was destroyed, and the concept wasn’t pursued again. 

Until NOW. 

Near Milford, Texas,  a company called ViZiV is conducting research along with Baylor University.  They’re experimenting with “Zenneck Surface Waves”; or, in other words, they’re advancing Tesla’s work on the wireless transmission project.   

If it works as expected, the tower will send out “waves” that follow the shape of the planet creating a highly efficient way to transmit signals, or even electricity,  without the limits caused by wiring or by “line of sight”.   Imagine having the Internet anywhere without an ISP.   Imagine having light available without power lines.   Imagine there being no need for your local electric company.  Imagine receiving broadcasts that are never interfered with by storms.  The potential is limitless. 

If you’ve ever seen photos of Tesla’s original tower then you’ll immediately recognize this tower near Milford as being very close to Tesla’s original design. 

We should find out pretty soon whether the concept works.  They’re planning to start testing this year.
