I just. I just really love Pete okay. Talk about a journey of unlearning toxic masculinity and leaning into softness.
I've been enjoying recording podfics, at least partially as an exercise in learning to love my voice even though there's some weird shit about it. It's a little lispy, a little non-specific-drawly-american-accent, tons of things that piss off men like vocal fry and whatever it's called when you treat random sentences like questions. (Also can we get a big fuck you to my ex-husband for "jokingly" making fun of me for it all the fucking time?)
There are a lot of things to love about Pete, but I love how they just let his voice stand as it is. Nobody ever mentions it.
I also love this line about him specifically.
