So...earlier this year(2017)...Jesse De La Pena hit me up to find out if I was down to do a little DJ challenge..Initially,this is how it went...2 DJ’s would be given a budget of 50$ to shop at a designated record store(K-Starke in my case) then later that night use those same joints to come up with an hour long set...First of all,if you think it sounds easy,IT AINT!!For my challenge,I had to face off against Sonryze,who was very dope...I have to say it was to my benefit to go last...I emerged victorious and had to face off against 3 other winners on July 29th in Humboldt Park...(Brian Borden,Phunk One&Communicator)...This time the DJ’s could bring 5 records from the previous challenge and we would have to pick 10 joints each 1 at a time(I was number 4..last again!!)JDLP had a couple more twists for us...he only brought 45″s and a few were mislabled!!I actually picked one that was mislabled too..It definitely made things more interesting...Everybody was dope but I stuck to my game plan and again emerged victorious!!!Big Up to everyone that was involved...it was MAD FUN...To be totally honest,I would battle ANY FUCKING BODY under those rules...ANYBODY...Seriously...Digging is an art and a vocation...And really knowing how to rock is a fine tuned skill....The Dig Is Eternal...
