Send me a ♫ and I’ll shuffle my music. For whatever song comes up first, I’ll write a short drabble about our muses inspired by that song, for the duration of the song. I must stop writing and post as soon as it ends, no matter where in the drabble I currently am.
sunlight was something nami had never experienced until she reached the surface of the sea for the first time. it hadn’t confused her too much, she’d heard plenty of stories and tales about how the brightness of the surface was caused by something similar to the moonstone. the cycle of the hours of the day were still perplexing to her—she didn’t understand why the sun set, exactly, but she never let it bother her.
the absence of both sunlight and moonlight was odd. darkness was in no way unusual—the depths of the ocean in which she fought to find the abyssal pearl had been darker than anywhere she’d ever been. but they weren’t as dark as the void. and the terrors she had fought were nothing in comparison to the pain she felt upon entering it.
thoughts and memories swirled within her mind, her body keeled over and contorted. if you had been quicker, they would still be alive, her head spoke to her, it’s your fault they’re dead. shrieking, her body began to shake and writhe. hands held her head within them, trying to calm her mind, attempting to release it of the negative thoughts it contained.
she didn’t feel her body picked up and carried out of the void. nor did the tidecaller even realize she’d left the terrible place, or that she’d passed out completely until she opened her eyes, and above her stood kha’zix. he’d been the one to explain to her the beauty within the void, romanticizing the idea of returning to it. he’d made it sound so much like the homeland that she begged him for entrance… and he’d obliged.
staring up at him, her golden eyes instead reddened, she pleaded with him wordlessly for either relief of her agony or death altogether. her body laid limp, the only sign of life within her were the demonic eyes she searched the reaver’s face with, hoping for some sort of explanation, some words to put her at ease.
instead he stared back at her, just as perturbed as she. he had only heard of the void turning people… he’d never witnessed it, nor did he know it could happen so quickly. he wanted to feel remorse for what he’d done, but now his only concern was keeping her safe—for he could not benefit from her underwater abilities if anything more dangerous happened to the last marai.
// ask-the-voidreaver | twisted logic by coldplay | okay, so i mainly used the first few lines of this song for inspiration, since the rest of it was kind of irrelevant. and… considering i took our idea for the void!nami rp we’re thinking about… it turned out a lot differently than expected. regardless, i hope you like it~
