Draining her magic regularly seemed to have a well-meaning effect on the mage as she slumbered. Ilyea found the more she did this; it seemed to mean less bad dreams that she had grown accustomed. Two things seemed to make her suffer a bit less was either bringing herself to the point of exhaustion like before or having someone that can bring her out of it. Aurora was her safe guard in that decision even when he came as tainted as before. The soft thump of his heart was her meditation into the wee nights and dimly she wished she had stayed a few more hours in his arms.
Ilyea had found that sleeping during the day seemed to ward off many of the unpleasant questions that seemed to be surrounding her whenever she stepped into Erudition. One that she would undoubtedly have to change whenever she were to travel with Lumi and Aurora.
If she were to travel with them
The thought once more coming unbidden like a ripple within a pool of water. Her insecurities blossoming forth from within her; the longer she couldn’t speak to Aurora. Failings made real every second that they were apart.
It was dangerously clear that he was in more trouble then he let on. That’s what her testing provided anyways. The clue at least given to her by the light of the moon was something her instinct couldn’t avoid. So Ilyea had to take the gamble and thankfully all the work she had done in Val’Sharath allowed her some clearance to gather as much moon well water as she liked by the temple of the moon. The dryads had sung of their praises even though the matter of the staff had not quite been handled as of yet. Little boring victories that surmounted into larger ones.
You and I both know, Ilyea that the only reason his Ex-Wife wanted to travel on this trip to get an artifact to change emotions of all things was to make sure that Aurora would love her again. Any Moron with a brain would come to that conclusion.
The woman paused and did her best to calm her breaths. Cautious eyes lingered from her collection of moon well water to the Sindorei skull sitting on one of the ledges that was built. Malefaca’s. Ilyea could clearly hear his voice even though the thoughts were her own.
Shit upon shit upon shit. Ilyea you trusted a real asshole this time. Why else would he so will…
Ilyea closed her eyes for a long moment willing the voices to go away. It took so many years because she would stop hearing this cautionary asshole whenever she met someone new and it took every ounce of her to shut his voice up. Deep calming breaths were issued upon the woman with a stuttering breath. The moon well water was once again a focus as she slide over to her spoils. A large clear jar decorated with runes as well as six vials.
Ilyea briefly considered breaking necklace Theron made for her into dust to further reinforce all of the waters but thought against it. It still comforted her even when the void seemed too strong.
The box that Theron had gifted her was slid out from underside their bed and opened. The wolfen design coming flowing against Ilyea’s finger tips as she ran them across the patterned wood. The other rose box was already re-purposed now storing all the oils and roses that Theron seemed to be gifting her still since their original agreement. Maggie would probably get a few after kicking Ilyea out of the kitchen for eating almost all of the meat pies today for….10 people. Whoops.
Out of the wolfen patterned box, a single vial of Theron’s blood was produced. One that she had grown very familiar within the past few months. The vial was carefully eased into the large clear jar of moon well water before a few drops of her own blood were added to the brew It was a long shot but with the heavy amount of void and whatever the hell else was in Theron’s blood; Ilyea may have a chance to cleanse it. Or at least change it somewhat. The top was slowly placed upon the vessel before a nearby lit candle was tipped over to cover the top in wax. The jar was placed nearby on the table so that the moon would be able to clearly hit whatever was in there.
It would not be opened for another full moon cycle.
The vials nearby filled with the same liquid was simply touched with a few touches of her blood and sealed with the same wax and placed in the same area as the jar. It wouldn’t be as potent as the brew that Theron’s blood was settling in but she didn’t have as much time to prepare for this.
Ilyea wished she had more time.
As the battle worn mage watched the first lights of Elune’s silvery light hit the collected jar and vials, dimly she hoped it was enough.
