Another day, another battle. Once more the memoriate had attempted an attack on her hideout. Once more, they posed no challenge, even with their minions and dark powers.

As she finished the last of them, driving her sword through him, she took a moment to look around. The city was in flames, the corpses of her attacks spread throughout the square where they had battled. But the sun was still shining, and she was still alive.

Suddenly a voice in her mind. The echo, warning her off danger. But far more intense then she had ever felt before. Something was wrong. The sun was still up ... and yet it was as if the very world had darkened.

The last thing she remembered was the sun disappearing behind a veritable flood of darkness, pulling her with it into darkness.

Iliud had just finished burrowing the body as the heavens began to weep, unleashing a torrent of wind and rain upon Thanalan. The guards had brought in a body that had been found near the street. A miqo'te lady neither he nor the guards had ever seen before. Saying a final prayer he left the fresh grave.

In the morning Iliud returned to the grave, wishing to once again pray for the poor, unknown soul within. As he walked around the corner he saw her. A miqo'te, laying on the grave he had filled just the evening before. Wearing the same commoners clothing as the one he had buried. The grave itself open ... and empty.

Yet the woman before him looked nothing alike the one he had buried.
