Future Trance Vol. 12
Patriot 1973, Patrick Henry High School's yearbook, Vol. 12, Raonoke, VA, 1973
What sort of car does BJ drive? A post I saw earlier reminded me of this question again.
As a casual admirer of vintage cars from the late '60s—'70s, and a fan of the Black Jack manga, the question of BJ's saloon has crossed my mind before.
Tezuka-sensei wasn't exactly specific on this issue, but on the bright side, that means it's open to fan selections.
After taking into account the time period (BJ was first published in 1973, so Tezuka likely had cars produced a little earlier before that in mind), the location (Japan), and the (deliberately vague?) car emblem, my pick would be the Toyota Crown from the late '60s—'70s as a likely candidate.
Toyota Crown 3rd Gen. (1967—1971), marketed as ‘Toyopet’
Toyota Crown Super Saloon, 4th Gen. (c. 1971)

And there's no real point to this post, just my own musings…
