Gummy thinks Gordie is cool!

C-c-c-combo ask! @volcalith
♡ [{volcalith; surprise me lol}] 💪+reverse [{volcalith}]
❦ Leaving the security of the bridge arch seemed like a bad idea, but the storm seemed not to give them much choice. It wasn’t pouring quite as heavily, but the rain hadn’t let up entirely and what little remained of the sunlight was quickly waning. Calling a cab was out of the question, so the best they could do was move to the nearest shelter; that being the wild area Daycare Center. Still, it was a fair walk away... And the marsh they had to cross to get there wasn’t making things easier.
“Oh dear...” Milo gawked, a little short for words as Gordie’s feet sank into unexpectedly soft ground, all but engulfed in the mud. Usually, these particular stretches they were traveling through were a little more solid, but the storm did them no favors. “Wait... here, lemme...” The farmer glanced about, spotting a nearby tree. Making use the firmer footing granted by the roots, Milo held onto the tree’s lowest branch and reached out to take Gordie’s hand. They had to readjust their grip on each other, ensure that Milo wasn’t just going to tumble in with the blond, but then - with one mighty yank - Milo had pulled Gordie free of the muck which had trapped him.
Only the marsh claimed one of Gordie’s shoes in the process.
The remainder of their walk to the Daycare Center felt more like a march through shame. The marsh - with it’s many sharp shoots growing under soft earth and slippery slopes into cutting stones - was not a good place to walk barefoot. So, Milo had hoisted Gordie onto his back, giving the man an improvised piggy back ride to avoid any further accidents. Turns out, all you need is a little bad weather to trounce two League leaders.
“... You holding up okay?” Milo asks, perhaps just to make some light conversation. It felt awkward enough to carry the other through rain like this, the silence really wasn’t making it better.
@volcalith sent:
♟ for grant [{volcalith}]
♙ : Sharing a bed
“I’d move, but I’m really comfortable here,” Grant said, lying on the singular bed of the hotel room.
“Also because I’m really sore and stiff,” he continued, sheepishly. “I guess I climbed a little too much yesterday.”
an eternal paradise awaits. > @volcalith
the perfect world will be a reality soon. should you have a place in it ?
“ Of our lists ... Few are those outside of Kalos that will be in our ranks. ”
“ Gym Leaders even less so ... Some of them are worthy of praise, of course. Admirable. Some simply do not have their morals align with ours, or are older ... ”
“ ... But you are young. And a most dignified young man. Not only so, but you have charisma. Confidence. ”
“ ... Perhaps ... We could make something out of you ... ”
“Brilliant!” Hop hops out of the seating area and onto the pitch - which is more of a drop, but thankfully his legs were used to things like this - with a grin, heading towards the Gym Leader with long strides. Gordie and his team were forces to be reckoned with, he doesn’t need data to know that (but the data is exciting)!
“Thanks again for lettin’ me sit in on your trainin’.” With a few taps, his watch casts a hologram of numbers and diagrams that would most likely be uninteresting to any of his friends but Sonia. His eyes sparkle as he says, “I’ve got a lot to work with!” The assistant Professor swipes through the data a few times before closing the hologram. As much as he’s tempted to just sit down and go through it all right away, he really should wait to be back at the Lab for that.
“Shame I couldn’t find Melony too, a battle between you two would be right thrillin’. But there’s always next time...?” There’s a lilt at the end of the sentence, more like a question than anything, a way of checking in with the other.

I guess when you’re at a disadvantage across the board, you have to start getting mean. I can certainly respect that.
“You! You get it! This is exactly why I like Bug-types!”
“....did Gordie find out 'bout th'bettin' that me an' th'boys do whenever someone challenges Piers in th'gym?“
