Our trip was a success! We had loads of fun and I came back with a bucketful of local rocks and minerals to be made into unique hand ground paints. We even got to see some interesting wildlife, several deer, grey squirrels, and even a bald eagle! I did not remember to put on sunscreen, so I am unfortunately lobster red right now, and so tired! The mining field is roughly 37 acres of dirt and must be searched VERY thoroughly to get a good variety of the best stones! I will have to sort through my treasures tomorrow to see exactly what I've ended up with.
