Homebrew Race: Voldur
Voldur are not my original creation. I played one named Morrvat in Pathfinder nearly year ago and they forever hold special place in my heart. The orginal idea from Giant in the Playground forum by Empedocles
Heres my vision on Voldur suitable for 5e D&D
Voldur
Hybrids of Elves and Orcs. They are taller than most half orcs, but thinner and less muscular. Their mixed build allows them extremely fast movements. Voldurs are rarely welcome among any of their parental races, finding their place in company of other hybrids, traveling dark elves or Tieflings. Due to hostility between Elves and Orcs, hybrids of the two rarely happen and most Voldur never seen another of their kind. They even might spend years looking for them.
Voldur Racial Traits
Ability Score Increase: Dexterity +2, Constitution +1
Size: Medium
Darkvision: 60 feet
Keen Senses: You are proficient with Perception skill.
Fleet of Foot: Speed 35 feet
Fey Ancestry: You have advantage on saving throws against being Charmed and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Rush: Once per long rest you can make an additional action on your turn. This action can’t be used to cast spells and you may only make one weapon attack with it. At 3rd level you can use this feature every short or long rest.
Languages: Common, Elvish and Orc.
Variant trait
You can replace Fey Ancestry with Relentless Endurance racial trait.
Homebrew Race: Dark Voldur
Hey so I might not be able to make next subclass as fast as I thought so I’m blowing the dust off this old thing that was unfinished in my folder. Remember the Voldur? Now in Goth edition.
Dark Voldur
Those Voldur differ from most as they are breeded by the Drow as magically-enforced troops. Those who escape from life of slave soldiers go as far from Drow society as they can. Dark Voldur have gift of Drow magic and endurance of Orcs, but they aren’t as skillful or powerful as their parental races. Being unadapted for sight of sun they will often travel by night. Even other hybrids are often afraid of them.
Dark Voldur Racial Traits
Ability Score Increase: Constitution +2, Charisma +1
Size: Medium
Superior Darkvision: 120 feet
Sunlight Sensitivity: You have disadvantage on attacks and Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight, when You or Your target is in bright sunlight.
Relentless Endurance: Once per long rest, when You are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, You can drop to 1 hit point instead.
Deep Magic: You know Poison Spray cantrip. At 3rd level You know Bane spell and can cast it once per long rest without using a spell slot. At 5th level You know Web spell and can cast it once per short or long rest without using a spell slot. Charisma is Your spellcasting ability for those spells.
Languages: Common, Orc and Undercommon.
