We are consistently being asked about the Voltron movie or seeing repeated comments in our feed complaining that there isn't one. Here's Bob

It looks like VoltCon's announcers are finally promising some news on the live-action Voltron movie (that is, if we don't hear anything the week before at NYCC 2025, as there are still eight unannounced panels for the big halls), which is interesting if only because for a movie that has cleared the $100 million range on its initial filming budget alone (and that's before you add in effects and post-production) there has been virtually zero set leaks, costume leaks, etc. The closest to any leak was a plot summary that truly describes this as a sequel to the original 1984 cartoon, while others have described it as a full-on reboot with brand new characters and a brand new story to avoid comparisons to a certain show you can no longer legally watch.

Hope you don't mind waiting two months, because this movie will likely determine what future, if any, this franchise has. It could also be watched closely to see if other giant robot movies do get launched (No news has come out concerning the Gundam movie since rumors swirled Sydney Sweeney was going to play Sayla Mass, the live-action Getter Robo pitch movie is still getting updates as of June 2025 but was delayed to hell following both a writers conflict and the director suffering a heart attack, and Robotech is getting made roughly never).

Granted, if nothing else, I am looking forward to the publicity tour where everyone involved either ignores or buries the show you can no longer legally watch, and probably has Henry Cavill burn Klance fan art to get the dudes excited for the movie.
