So I had the opportunity to contribute to Convexity Studios New Years Spyro Fanfic Video. I did a scene where Spyro, Cynder, and Sparx meet up with Volteer in the library in the Dragon Temple. Was really happy to contribute to a video

here we are! as promised, the lil surprise! after two weeks i finished creating the three guardians: volteer, cyril, and terrador! i'm super happy to have these guys done and ready!!

with these guys done, i got a few more dragon characters to do. the chronicler is next and hopefully should be done by this weekend.

below is me just rambling about my modeling history and how important it was that i got these guys done!

im so happy and excited that i finally created models for these three! for a few years i've made models of spyro, cynder and her corrupted form, ignitus, and malefor specifically, with an adult spyro made on occasion. but i never got past anyone after those characters. hunter is my first model i did outside of these batch of characters! i'm super happy i did the guardians :)

for my semi-yearly replay of TLoS a new beginning, my bestie and i decided to texture hack it for fun. we ended up trying to come up with designs for my AU (https://thelegendoffireandice.tumblr.com/)... @shiftingshade made the textures with guidance from me (tho cyril's design was 100% them)

i'll post more screenshots once we get some of cynder :D

I’ll look into drawing Malefor later. Probably add my two OCs when I get there. Head canons below the cut.

Though Cynder(in my opinion/head canon) is a very exaggerated depiction of an adult female dragon in her corrupted form, she probably has some similarities with an actual adult female dragon.

Cynder, in her corrupted form, has far larger wings than any of the Guardians. It's fun to wonder if this is simply her corruption, a result of sexual dimorphism, or a result of Cynder most likely being a Wind Dragon initially.

Volteer has little turned out front paws, and I love it so much! As someone with naturally turned out feet, this was surprisingly heartwarming to see.

Volteer and Terrador are more similar in body shape than I expected. I thought Terrador was the only Guardian I would qualify as particularly bulky/muscular, but Volteer also seems to have more muscle to him. Who's the gangliest(though still plenty muscular) of the Guardians seems to be a toss-up between Ignitus and Cyril.

Fire dragons and Electricity dragons have similar horn shapes. Or at least Ignitus and Volteer do. Volteer's seem to go more towards the back with Ignitus' go out and up.

Spyro and Ignitus have the same horn shape! Like, pretty much the exact same if you don't account for the different stages of life they're in.

Cynder and Cyril both do not have ridges on their horns, as far as I can tell, aside from where their horns join their skulls. I assume this is an element thing.

Even as her normal self, Cynder clearly has a different leg shape and tail compared to Spyro. And her wings do appear to be bigger than his. Then again, his wings might be a tad underdeveloped from lack of use for the first twelve years of his life.

Not every dragon has a pattern. Ignitus and Volteer have patterns, Spyro seems to have some on his back, Cynder's iirc came from her corruption, but Terrador and Cyril seem to only have texture/scale patterning on their bodies.

It's lovely to see the scars of battle on the bigger dragons. I'll probably incorporate more scars aside from the wing damage when I start migrating from referencing to drawing these guys in my own style.

Doing some more Legend of Spyro practice. This time, suing references! Only things I actually traced were poses, everything else I drew out while looking at the reference pictures.

(And geez , are the Guardians complicated to draw! I drew Ignitus twice before even attempting the others!)
