Dark Aether Plague AU - Even when the world seemed to break around them, they had each other
Young Ignitus, Cyril, Volteer and Terrador for the Smaugust challenge back in 2023.
And the fourth caregiver - Terrador!

I’ll look into drawing Malefor later. Probably add my two OCs when I get there. Head canons below the cut.
Ranting about The Legend of Spyro lore
I really like what TLOS fanfictions are doing because there's so many things that take place between games and they were either deleted or are barely mentioned.
I specifically love the guardians and all the dragon lore but, except for Ignitus and a few Terrador moments, their characters are rarely explored. Volteer and Cyril have many iconic moments but their whole personality is them being an hyperactive blabbermouth and a snobbish icicle. And the rest of the surviving dragons who had been in hiding during the first two games only appear during cutscenes in the background. No one even mentions the dead, or the eggs they lost!
I always wondered why Spyro never asked who his real parents were, or if he had any siblings. I get that he already has an adopted family and he loves them, but seeing how put up he was with wondering who and what he was, I figured it would be a questiong that would come up sooner or later. (He doesn't even wonder what happened to his parents after TEN lol) Same with Cynder. She never questioned if she had any family at all. Although I'm starting to think she simply didn't want to know because she though she might have killed them herself at some point :(
However, the worst thing is seeing how Cynder wasn't even sad when confronted with her past abuse. She was mocked, beaten, starved, transformed into a rampaging, bloodthirsy monster forced to kill members of her own species... And she just accepted it!! Like, of course she feels remorse for what she did and understands how wrong (messed up) her actions were, but when it comes to her day-to-day life, she genuinely believes that's the standard because it's the only life she's ever known.
