So about Klance...
I just finished the season and now I've been looking through all the hype and I'm honestly really disappointed in all the hate the show has been getting.
Because shipping aside, this show is absolutely incredible. This season was fantastic. I didn't think the show could get much better than season six but the crew continues to surprise me. Lance saw his family. Hunk got so much character development. The action scenes were amazing and the animation was incredible.
I completely understand why so many people are upset. I am too. I was really rooting for endgame klance. However, after reading through Barlee's tweets, I truly do think that it's not the crew's fault. I think that klance could have been end game and we would've had an adashi reunion but DreamWorks didn't approve of it. Has this been confirmed? No, but I think it makes the most sense. It makes sense as to why Lance's flirting with Allura backed off a bit while we got so much (potential) romantic coding between Keith and Lance. Barlee said the second half of the show was mostly improvised. I think the crew did the best they could with what they had and some ships got the tail end of that.
I've seen a few theories on how klance could still be canon and I honestly want to believe it will, what with how everyone is talking about body language and angles of certain shots. But you guys need to think about the fact that this show is made for kids. Seven year olds dont understand romantic build up and slowburn. They need blatant signs like blushing and stuttering and fond looks. Much like how Lance, and now Allura, are looking at each other. It's pretty clear they've set up end game Allurance and possibly Acxa and Keith. I've seen the article saying it could possibly be one sided and I could honestly see it going either way.
Do I think klance will be canon? Honestly, I will be extremely surprised if it does, because at this point I can't think of any other reason that they would have Allura mirroring Lance's fond looks. I want to keep an open mind but it really doesn't seem possible anymore.
I love klance. I will continue to ship klance because it makes me happy regardless of it becoming canon or not. And hey, Allurance might be a bit cliché in my mind, but it's still pretty cute.
It's ok to be disappointed, but don't let shipping be the make or break of a show, especially a show like Voltron where shipping was never a main focus in the first place.

last night i had a dream about klance for the first time. it took place when mcr announced the return tour ig? keith was napping and lance woke him up yelling about how they had to get tickets and keith was literally going batshit from excitement but then they saw that all the tickets were sold out. lance was like “oh no baby i’m so sorry” and keith just walked into the bathroom and slammed the door. lance followed him in and keith was sitting in the bathtub with the shower on, fully clothed, staring sadly into space. lance put it on tiktok.
