Y'all should Google the article, it’s actually pretty neat. Basically, the Aldabra Atoll was once inhabited by the Aldabra Rail, a flightless species of bird that had diverged from the flying White-Throated Rail when a section of the population landed there and found they had no natural predators. However, the Atoll occasionally gets completely submerged, and all of the flightless Aldabra rails were wiped out. But then, after the Atoll re-emerged, a bunch of the EXACT SAME species of flying White Throated Rail decided to settle there again, and immediately proceeded to evolve into flightless birds AGAIN.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT HUMANS is how we pick up lil quirks from people we’re around often!! i love how u can tell people are close by the way their body language is complementary. i love seeing people start using expressions and words their loved ones use often. i love when you complement someone on something and they say something like “so-and-so got it for me” or “so-and-so introduced me to it.” we’re so deeply entangled with each other, constantly building each other up in subtle ways without even realizing it. how neat is that!! how freakin’ cool are we!!!
The realest ones in the MCU.

some of y'all didnt grow up as the person nobody has a crush on and it really shows
some of yall never have to deal with the constant doubt in your own ability to be loved to the point where you get second hand embarrassment at the idea of someone being in love with you and finding you attractive because you’ve been diagnosed with ugly and cringy your whole life and it really shows
I genuinely Can Not think of another story that juggles as many characters as Full Metal Alchemist does and then gives Each and Every one of them as satisfying of an ending. Hiromu Arakawa didn’t just tie up loose ends. She did a scout knot, added a fancy bow, and then fused them with a lighter and some super glue. And they look great
Actually, it just boils down to how you naturally communicate. There was a study done on this specific social situation that showed that, while neurotypicals usually respond to a person telling an unfortunate story about themselves with something along the lines of “that’s awful” or “that must feel so X,” neurodivergent folks (specifically autistic, although in my personal experience it applies to cousin conditions like ADHD and BPD) were more likely to respond with a story of their own. To us, the first one feels hollow and token, where the second one actually shows that you know how they’re feeling, and that you’re truly sympathizing rather than putting on airs, but to a neurotypical person the second one usually feels like monopolizing the conversation, or even more drastically, getting into a pissing match over who had it worse.
It’s two drastically different neurotypes getting their wires crossed when trying to communicate with each other.

yoshihiro togashi, creator of yu yu hakusho and hunter x hunter
I’d like to remind y'all that his spouse is Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Sailor Moon and she is the most chic fashionista of a mangaka of her time so this is a quite a contrast once how they would both need to arrange their way of living. Takeuchi has nothing but respect for her husband (she calls him her “prince”) and when Togashi took some time off to recover from his burn out playing video games, they rely on his royalties as Takeuchi worked on Sailor Moon.
Looking at this again, it tells you a lot about Usagi in that NT finds him charming.
All along, Naoko Takeuchi was actually the Mamoru in the relationship.
I remember reading somewhere that Togashi didn’t have a driver’s license at the time of the marriage. In the meantime, Naoko Takeuchi had a Ferrari AND a Porsche.
So not only Naoko Takeuchi was Mamoru, she was also Haruka.
(Also, like, what even is this picture?)
As seen here, he’s also known to be a particularly good guy who treated his assistants really well and way above average in the manga industry, giving them bonuses that spanned the equivalent of four months’ pay, giving them his wallet when they had to run errands, paying for their meals, while totally wary to spend his money on himself.
And he doodled little cutesy doodles of him and Naoko working side by side with little heartsies around them.
So, in summary, we have somewhat of an altruist, charming disaster person. I’d say Naoko definitely married Usagi xD.
The fact that Julius Caesar burst into tears after reading about Alexander the Great because they were the same age but he could never live up to Alexander is one of the greatest things I’ve learnt as a classics student
and Alexander himself got upset over the fact that he would never live up to Achilles- he paid his respects at Achilles and Patroclus’ tomb, and kept a copy of the Iliad under his pillow. History is nothing but a long, long list of maudlin queers fearing that they’ll fail to live up to the maudlin queers who came before them.
Lesson of the post: become your own maudlin queer and wreck as much shit as possible

i think it’s very brave and sexy of me to still play pokemon games in the exact same way i did when i was 5 years old - ignoring all stat changing moves. this is an offensive move only household. if you effectively stratagise using stat changes in battle Fuck You
the only stat we care about changing is changing the enemy’s hp stat to zero
