Zayda Kogane…
In a world where Keith has a sister that he didn’t know of till season 3 in space!
Obviously she is a blade duh, and she infiltrates the castle of lions after the battle with Zarkon’s fleet.
At the time Shiro isn’t dead, he is in a coma but they don’t know when he will wake so they are still grieving him.
Anyway she is a couple months younger than Keith as she was born not long after Krolia returned into space. She didn’t know she was pregnant when she left earth. 19 or so years later Keith comes into space and becomes a paladin of Voltron, Ulaz is the first blade to come in contact with them and the minute he does he immediately saw the resemblance with Zayda. He reported back to Kolivan and that’s how they knew Krolia’s son has returned. Zayda overheard when Kolivan radiod Krolia about it, during a check in while she was undercover.
When Keith and Shiro first arrived at the base in season 2, she was there to watch him take out her mothers sword. She was one of the gala he fought in his rounds of fighting to gain knowledge. She looked at him and she could see the resemblance too. She was surprised he didn’t know already who the blade belonged too but she just had to get to know the boy who would die to learn about his past.
When the blade were working with Voltron to “take down Zarkon” she begged to be taken along to meet her brother. She was told no, because Krolia wasn’t ready yet and she specifically didn’t want him to know yet. But she couldn’t take it so after the fail, she left before Kolivan returned.
So that’s her before Keith story… this was actually inspired by a dream I had…. But anyway with her arriving in season 3 the plot line changes for the better really. Along with Klance of course, Lance for a matter of fact figures out later on who she is, he notices resemblances in character that can’t be a coincidence. He is Keiths boyfriend, so it didn’t come as a surprise.
