I'm in agreement with Marcus, he's literally fed up with everything. How he hasn't lost his mind in 3k years is a mystery.
I can't get this thought out of my head. The entire Volturi clan is not based on loyalty to the kings and their beliefs, but on Chelsea's gift. She is such an important figure that she remains in the background in the film, only appearing briefly at dawn without any introduction. I believe that if something were to happen, she would quickly disappear, and everything would collapse like a house of cards. Imagine the chaos that would ensue in this intricate web of power. Many would leave, and only a select few would remain, which is unfortunate. If power were based on trust rather than fear, Chelsea's gift would be rarely used.
