Volume 15 Recap!

Now that I’m done with Volume 15, it’s time for [drum roll] recap!! Review, Best Panel, and Best Expression are below the cut, but for now, it’s volume analytics!

Review:

All in all there isn’t much to say about this volume— it’s an intro and it does its job of making me love the characters quite well. There just.... isn’t much to say plot wise. Like at all. Conflicts and characters are set up, and admittedly I’m surprised we didn’t get any intro to Team Magma by the end but i feel it’ll show up soon enough. I found myself surprised by 1. How immature Sapphire was, she’s way more childlike than I remembered, and 2. how melodramatic Ruby is. I feel like it’s something that got lost in newer arcs but man this boy is a ham and cheese sandwich. The two of them have super intense personalities and I’m excited to see how they play off of each other, since most of this arc is centered off that sweet, sweet character vs. character conflict. I also love how this arc is clearly hinting at something deeper within the characters, and how they both have unresolved emotional issues that oh so conveniently mirror their external struggles! Sure would be a shame if their trauma was dredged up... and they were forced to confront it in a big climax in later volumes... hmm..... Anyway, I like this volume! It’s short, funny, and does what it needs to without too much extra fluff. There aren’t any pages or scenes that slog, so you know what? I dig it!

Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 9

We reached the end of the prequel arc and volume 9!!!

Now, a couple of things:

I have a few loose posts to finish and publish before I can move on with the story. They are already in the works so it should not take too long. 😊

But more importantly, I wanted to announce that the time has come for me to finally tackle Volume 0!!! 🎉🎉🎉 That's right baby, I'm going full Machete Order with this, so I can dive into the bloody mess that is going to be the Shibuya arc with all the past events covered! Consider this an interlude before the chaos swallows us me.

And this time I only have one question apparently, that I hope it gets answered in the future as it seems pretty important:

In need of details on Mechamaru's deal with the Merry Gang.
