We were originally going to make a big, practical writeup before, but due to things getting in the way, our setting information will come in smaller spurts.
A land of primal fury given form, this loosely-formed "nation" makes up the majority of the continent. Its vast expanses are home to deserts and jungles in equal parts, with lush coasts home to many civilizations. Peeking out of the wilderness are small villages and massive stone structures sporadically, with little cohesiveness to placement to the untrained observer.
Life within the country is largely tribal, with but a few genuine cities called home by more prosperous clans. The one thing they have in common is the Summit, where spiritual and social leaders convene every few years or in times of turmoil. They determine what they can do to coexist, scattering afterward with attempts to compromise what may come; there is but one rule, that each way of life must be honored. This does come with some contradictions, but is reasonably effective once everyone has had their say.
Arsche Night: The only known human leader, he watches over the nomadic merchants that fled Ranzaile long ago. He is largely stoic and unmoving where emotional appeals are concerned, and is given the dubious title by outsiders as "The Barbarian King" for his fame. Regardless this moniker, he is but one voice among many, and holds as much sway as anyone else. He is nonetheless formidable if challenged, owing to an oddly calculated control of anger.
Ria Cala: Lamia representative of the southern coast, her demeanor is gentle, but her nature is far less-so. She presents a calm and almost musical air while delivering sometimes inhumane demands, but never loses her stride (so to speak). She will not raise her voice, even as raising a weapon, though should she be directly contested, it is one's surroundings that foes have most to fear. Ria Cala is well-versed in Druidic and sorceric paths, and does not hesitate to call on either when the need arises.
Other names may be added to this list, but this should get things going. I'm still reclaiming my notes, so this needs to grow.
