Which Soapberry Springs NPC is your favorite and why? (Please refrain from using an NPC belonging to your own character.)

ooc: I haven’t had much of a chance to interact with other characters’ npcs, but I would probably have to say Ollie, because he’s such a tit and I love seeing him featured on the dash. And when Mogwai was around with Von, I just adored Noel. That kid was too precious for this world.

How does Dani feel about discovering their biological family and how do they see their role within the Hauser family? Do you think they will want to meet the rest of their biological family face to face and learn about them?

There were a lot of mixed emotions that got stirred up when Dani discovered that they were indeed related to Shivonne and heard that they still had biological family members out in the world: shock, excitement, confusion, curiosity, fear. The fear is what has stuck with them the most, not of the Hausers themselves so much as of the effect this discovery could have on their adoptive family. But with Fane in Egypt and the progeny split their separate ways, Dani hasn’t actually had the chance to announce this news to them yet – and perhaps it’s better that way. They need time to come to terms with the find themself before sharing it with their vampire kin.

The oddest thing about it for Dani is adjusting to the notion that they have a whole second identity. Even if it’s the identity of a little girl who died at the age of two, there’s a whole other two families of people out there who believe in that girl and who might have had expectations about who that girl was going to become. It’s dizzying, really– trying to wrap their head around being both Dani and Wesley, wondering now what traits they might have inherited from their biological parents and likewise grandparents. For now, Dani is content easing into a place in Shivonne and Noel’s life alone. Being a cousin is easy enough. Being “Auntie Dani” to a kid who was named after them is somewhat more striking to contend with. But Dani loves Noel. He’s a sweet kid with a good heart. It’s just a little bit freaky how strong the resemblance is between him and a younger version of themself.

Shivonne has already imparted a good deal of knowledge to Dani about the Hauser family, but Dani believes they need to learn more about them before even considering meeting them in person. Family should be comprised of people you trust, and Dani doesn’t know the Hausers at all, so they want to get a feel for their relatives in advance of dive-bombing into their lives. The Hausers are only one side of the family, though. Dani is also extremely eager, perhaps more so, to learn about their father’s side (the Novaks). Without having had a mother growing up, father figures are far more important to them. Because Shivonne had very little information about his family, Dani has chosen to take what information they can get and do a little digging of their own. After all, if they’re ever going to meet one side of the family, might as well make it both, right?

A large box was delivered to Shivonne’s doorstep, lacking any sign of holiday wrapping besides a large red bow stuck on the top. The contents include:

one large, hug-sized plush dinosaur

two custom, functioning lightsabers -- minus the deadly laser capabilities

two VIP passes to this coming year’s Comic Con (not shown)

and a handwritten message from the sender

Here’s to hoping you’ve had a wonderful holiday. The dinosaur is for Noel, but the other gifts are for you both to share. I figured, considering everything, that a little gift couldn’t hurt to give. My best wishes to the rest of the family.
