For my sisters wedding, I bought a little notebook that I could jot down my maid of honor speech in. As a wedding photographer, I found it important that I don’t walk up to read my speech from a phone or off a big piece of paper (just doesn’t look good for composition). As our couples who have postponed their 2020 weddings into 2021 realize that there are still many things we are uncertain about and not much changes to venue/gathering restrictions - they are all rethinking their wedding plans. This does not mean that their wedding will be anything less than it would have been before but instead of the big dance party, many are opting for a virtual portion so they can still share their big Fay with people who can’t be there. Instead of a big guest count, they’re shifting budgets towards the flowers & dream table decor they wanted in the first place. We are helping them rework timelines... and believe it or not, vows! More so than ever, their vows to each other are the most important part of their marriage — everything else is just stuff! It’s not hard to imagine how they thought they needed all this stuff because they wanted to make their parents happy by inviting that distant cousin or relative but in the end, the most important thing is that family is safe and knowing they are vowing to commit to each other for life.
