I went to a COVID mini-mony wedding yesterday for a guy my fiancé works with. It was a nice excuse to get all gussied up! I love wearing stretch pants, sports bras, and a sloppy bun, but I do think the mental part of dressing up and seeing myself put together is something I do miss 6 months into quarantine. I don’t need to get dolled up all the time, but even twice a month would be a nice goal.

It was actually the most perfect wedding. It was at a lovely brewery in Bluemont VA, 35ish guests, a quick, but super personal ceremony, the bride wore a stunning BLUE lace gown, an open bar, a food truck for guests, delicious cake, sparse decorations - let the beautiful setting speak for itself, a few brief speeches from family, a guy playing amazing tunes on guitar, NO DANCING (I hate dancing) of any sort, or most of those other traditional wedding things. I’ve never been to a wedding that mirrored so much what I want my wedding to be.

My wedding that was supposed to be today, in Portugal. Back in early June we postponed for 1 full year, but going to yesterday’s wedding at 3:15pm on a Thursday was a lovely way to remember my wedding will be worth the wait!
