Was he smiling too much? Perhaps a little even if the expression is genuine but he can’t stop himself. Heels clicking in tandem with the other’s boots as they stroll their way through the streets of Paris holding hands. Granted with two weeks to themselves in the Land of the Living after their ironic matrimony in Hell, a gift from the underworld’s king and queen.
Though a distant but one of his prominent childhood memories Alastor never expected he’d end up back in Paris, recalling going on business trips with his mother at a young age. The perk of having a good memory is that he recognized the existing landmarks in his time and could gauge where exactly they were in the city or, at least where he’d walked decades ago.
He wondered if the monarchs knew in their own strange way where exactly to place them in the world, blinking in surprise upon opening his eyes on top the Eiffel Tower a while ago and going off on a historical rant as he, and his husband, Vox Populi descended the elevator. The initial shock was quick to wear off, however, when his eyes settled upon his partner trying to stick their fingers in their mouth and quickly calling to mind the composer’s lack of taste for decades. Despite the strange looks from the other tourists, Alastor laughed at his lover and coaxed him to settle down. Holding their hand he was quick to give the other a peck on the cheek.
Luckily he knew exactly where to go, a place he was happy to find still standing despite the years having gone by. A high tea of sorts to start off their journey knowing full well the other’s excitement to have one of their senses again. Once settled down in a booth, Alastor raised his chin and took in a breath. Shoulders rise and fall as the same breath is released. “ It still smells like as I remember it. I hope the three tier is to your liking ; a combination of sweets and healthy sandwiches. ”
Should he leave his side of the booth? They seem so far away. He smiles again, red lips drawing a happy picture on a freckled complexion. Oh.. oh dear, was he staring too much? Chuckling to himself, eyes trail onto the table and its contents. “ For someone with bright hair I hope you know you’re quite handsome. And I’m not just saying that because we’re married. ”
Viridescent stare rises to look at hazel and cerulean. “ God must be playing with me ---- to be so lucky to see you this way. Ah, I hope I never wake up from this dream if it is one. ” Alastor takes a moment and blinks, crossing his arms on the table and leaning forward to whisper, “ Is it? ”
