I don't believe in the existence of intelligent life beyond this planet, but there is something sadly beautiful and telling of human nature that, despite not being able to sort out the messes on our own world, we would collectively reach out to the stars in a desperate hope that we were not alone in the universe, and that this song would be the hand that we extend. A belief that if there was life beyond our planet, separated from us by language and culture and the incomprehensibly vast gulfs of space, even if we shared nothing else in common, it would be the perception of beauty through music that could connect us.

The "blue movie" of Jupiter shows Voyager 1's approach over 60 Jovian days -- Voyager 1's first stop in its interplanetary Grand Tour. The distinct longitudinal bands are created by opposing directions in the atmosphere, with turbulent vortexes generating where they meet. Several of Jupiter's moons flash on screen.
