watching the debate, hoping the fly will make a reappearance tonight.
I remember when we had a president our children could look up to.
— Joe Biden @JoeBiden
President Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States of America
In light of the newly declassified documents, it is clear that understanding what happened in that January 5 Oval Office meeting is essential to understanding the corrupt operation against the Trump administration.
Some Republicans have already stated they plan to object on Jan. 6 during the Electoral College certification vote, with Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley becoming the first Senator announce his planned objection on Monday.
The move, however, is not abnormal. It was practiced during Trump’s certification vote with Democrats in 2017. Biden presided over this process as vice president – and he quickly overruled Democrats’ objections, CNN reported at the time.
Trump’s certification process was marred by interruptions, with multiple Democrats objecting to state’s results. Despite the drama, which included protesters arriving at the event, Biden quickly and repeatedly shut things down.
“It is over,” Biden told Democratic Washington Rep. Pramila Jayapal when she objected to Georgia’s vote certificate.
“There is no debate. There is no debate. There is no debate,” Biden said during another attempted objection.
Barack Obama on Monday published a 13,000-word essay about passing the Affordable Care Act that only mentions Joe Biden once, when Biden sat silently.
Obama's only reference to Biden is in reference to then-congressman Joe Wilson's shouting "You lie!" while Obama was speaking before Congress.
"For the briefest moment, a stunned silence fell over the chamber," Obama writes. "I turned to look for the heckler (as did Speaker Pelosi and Joe Biden, Nancy aghast and Joe shaking his head). I was tempted to exit my perch, make my way down the aisle, and smack the guy in the head."
That aside marks the only time Biden appears in the piece, in which Obama frequently references Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) and former Senate majority leader Harry Reid (D, Nev.).
The former president even makes repeated references to lesser-known figures, such as aide Nancy-Ann DeParle, but does not present Biden as a part of the project.
The never-before-revealed meeting is mentioned in a message of appreciation that Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burisma, allegedly sent Hunter Biden on April 17, 2015, about a year after Hunter joined the Burisma board at a reported salary of up to $50,000 a month.
“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure,” the email reads.
An earlier email from May 2014 also shows Pozharskyi, reportedly Burisma’s No. 3 exec, asking Hunter for “advice on how you could use your influence” on the company’s behalf. . . .
The computer was dropped off at a repair shop in Biden’s home state of Delaware in April 2019, according to the store’s owner.
Other material extracted from the computer includes a raunchy, 12-minute video that appears to show Hunter, who’s admitted struggling with addiction problems, smoking crack while engaged in a sex act with an unidentified woman, as well as numerous other sexually explicit images.
The customer who brought in the water-damaged MacBook Pro for repair never paid for the service or retrieved it or a hard drive on which its contents were stored, according to the shop owner, who said he tried repeatedly to contact the client.
The shop owner couldn’t positively identify the customer as Hunter Biden, but said the laptop bore a sticker from the Beau Biden Foundation, named after Hunter’s late brother and former Delaware attorney general.
An email was sent four days prior to the inauguration of President Donald Trump to a redacted recipient and CCd to Yovanovitch with the subject line “medvedchuk-linked vesti trolls Biden.” Kent writes: “Burisma – gift that keeps on giving. (With medvedchuk affiliated Vesti pushing the troll like storyline on visit day)”
Hunter Biden, son of then-Vice President Joe Biden, served on the board of directorsfor Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings despite having no previous experience in the energy industry.
Kent includes a “Review of Ukrainian Printed Press,” that includes the Ukrainian newspaper Vesti, which described Biden’s visit to Ukraine, saying: “Will J. Biden arrive to secure his son’s business? According to experts, J. Biden, as the unofficial curator of ‘the Ukrainian question’, will give P. Poroshenko recommendations about working with the new US administration. Another aspect is the protection of his own business interests.”
On January 17, 2017, Biden was on his sixth visit in seven years to Ukraine. When Biden visited Ukraine in 2015, he threatened to withhold $1 billion if the country’s top prosecutor was not dismissed. Hunter Biden was under investigation by the later-fired prosecutor general.
Kent and Yovanovitch were both star witnesses for Democrats in the Trump impeachment hearings. Kent testified he warned the Obama administration about Hunter Biden’s work with Burisma: “My concern was that there was the possibility of a perception of a conflict of interest.”
