Just watched the video where VP Leni rode a motorcycle just to arrive at the Cavite people's rally and I didn't notice the tears falling. Why would I cry over a two-minute clip? I guess it's the feeling of so much gratitude to have the chance to live in a country led by someone like Leni Robredo. Perhaps it's the awareness that until now there's a real threat that that might not happen. But maybe it's also the hope that lies within, that with the fire we have for the Philippines, we will vote for the right candidate with integrity, strong moral compass, accountability, transparency, decades of on-the-ground work to help people from different backgrounds, and faith in God.
I then watched the clip where VP Leni read the slogans of the attendees in Sampaloc, and the tears were replaced with laughter. All the wit combined from different supporters gave a lot of good vibes! It felt like I was there with them, too. (I'd be part of "Virgins for Leni" HAHA)
The feeling of genuine unity, passion, and synergy could be felt in every crowd that supports Leni.
This is the kind of future we can have, and the choice is ours to make. I hope we make the right decision.
Lord Jesus, we surrender to You the coming elections. Please enlighten every Filipino to vote for someone whose leadership and love reflect Yours. Amen. 💕🌸
VP Leni had an FB Live earlier, so here's some new batch of memes/reactions as expected.
There'll be more of this after June 30 for sure hxhdjsjsjajs
Marang-Marang is a village in Basilan. Marang-Marang is situated northeast of Santa Barbara, and east of Luuk-Buton.
I had the privilege to try various Tausug dishes and delicacies that they offered to VP Leni. I remember asking them the names of the food and they gave me two different names because apparently, Marang Marang (or Basilan, for that matter) is home to different ethnic groups: i.e. the yakans, the tausugs, and a number of chavacanos. I tried listing them down, and I hope I got them right:
Hantak / Sikalang - a native biscuit that resembles a pretzel and is glazed with sugar. The name, by the way, means something like "dumped" in the Tausug dialect because the dough is dumped onto the table as a kneading method.
Pitis/ Patanik - a must-try native tausug food! It is a steamed pastry made of glutinous rice flour stuffed with loads of sweetened grated coconut meat.
Junay/ Punjung - made of rice steamed in coconut milk and toasted coconut. Then wrapped in little packets of banana leaves like suman.
Bago-ngon - a local horn snail that has found its way to some popular dishes here in Mindanao. (Funny story, I was asked "Ikaw Jas, magaling ka ba sumupsop ng suso?". Hahahaha.)
Imbao (or commonly called Mangrove Clam) - delicious seared clams that are topped with cheese. Rapsa!
Meeting VP Leni is probably the highlight of my Basilan trip, but interacting with the locals and trying their food is the bonus I never thought I would experience in this lifetime.
me listening to our vp address the nation without talking in circles or using expletives as punctuation, offering a plan that is intelligible and informed:

For the first time, we see a former Vice President extend her legacy even after her term. Thank you for starting this movement, VP Leni :)
