Are you a City Council of Darkness fan? Are you one of the many people who doesn't understand Vampire: The Masquerade? Don't worry, I can help!

This is a playlist that explains the World of Darkness and all of the modules. The most important videos you need to watch (that explain the lore) are Vampire Clans, History of VTM, Vampire Politics, and Eastern Kindred.

Here is the first episode of L.A. by Night, an actual play vtm campaign with Erika Ishii and a few starring guests you may recognize as you watch the campaign. Very good starting point for beginners since the coterie goes about explaining the rules to a freshly-embraced kindred.

Here is the first episode of Stitch of Fate, a vtm podcast with heavy character studies. This starts in 2021-ish and takes place in New York. Might be slow paced if your attention span can't handle it, but it's fun.

Here is how to start character creation for vtm 5e, posted in 2025.

And remember, Dimension 20 is first and foremost entertainment, things can be added and taken away from the mechanics of the game so the players and dm can tell the best story possible. City Council of Darkness has been modified for the Intrepid Heros since they're first-time players, which means the mechanics they're using isn't true to what vtm looks like.

PART 1 : What the fuck is a vampire.

My friend is joining a VtM game I am in and I started making this guide for them, but I want to post it here for anyone who finds it useful.

The goal of the guide is to teach basic game-play mechanics and how to fill out a character sheet in a way that is easy to understand. for the sake of this guide I do not care at all about World of Darkness lore. do not comment about how I am technically wrong about X clan. I do not care.

Also this is in no way a substitute for any official VtM materials. it will teach you how to play the game, but if you are joining a game you should also have access to the official source book.

If you want more info on each clan, please look at the official source books. The are also a few Wiki's but those tend to have information from older versions of the game.

Also 2 mistakes: I realize I counted the damage wrong (aggravated damage goes right to left, while superficial goes left to right or something.) and Kliene should technically have 4 points in persuasion. I forgot to add the bonus from her predator type despite mentioning it in the guide.
