I have sadly accepted that I am with this dumb show until the bitter end but I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO GET OUT IF AND WHEN THEY CAN!

AM I GOING TO HAVE TO WATCH SPARTACUS

SHORT ANSWER: YES.

LONG ANSWER: I skipped S1 because I was in it for the agron/nasir stuff at first and nasir appears in S2 (and I can’t lie still am a lot because YOU HAVE SEEN THE CAPS), so I can’t speak for that, but S2 was great and required no foreknowledge to jump into. seriously though if you do (YOU SHOULD) be prepared for literally all the blood and gore and sex. no one is even remotely exaggerating when they talk about how full of sex and violence this show is. also, it’s really bad sometimes? and the dialogue is special. very special. but! I have nearly caught up to where the third (and last! omg a show with an actual proper end in sight!) season is up to and I have been THOROUGHLY entertained, not just by agron and nasir being incredibly painfully cute (currently agron is being a jealous butt, but that is also ahlsdakshldkahd akhsdla aw).

and one thing I can say in its favour is that it is 100% fabulous about agron and nasir being gayists? like, it’s literally not commented on in the show as a negative ever, which was surprising and lovely. also, this show is full of TERRIFYING women, sadly a lot of whom tend to… die, but uh, so does a lot of *everyone*.

basically it’s crappy but not like crappy in ways that will offend you probably? oh. except it’s kinda rape-y also.

I think I am talking it down at this point but I don’t mean to because IT HAS BEEN SUPER FUN. and kinda sexy look at agron tilting nasir’s head up to look at his busted lip look:
