Péle stood soaked by the heavy rainfall, her expression told an immeasurable story… she was an emotional person, and right now her emotions had gotten the best in her. Surely, she could have confided in Orianthe or Robyn, but A'ni was closer based on distance and she had a deeper connection with her as compared to her current band mates.
Regardless of the water she was drenched in or whatever A'ni was wearing, the Ixtali embraced her closely, a much needed, awkwardly wet hug as arms wrapped about her waist. The almost always stern and balanced woman had toppled, sobbing gently against her shoulder, “ A'ni…. I– ”
She sniffled, muttering between sniffles, “ – my Papa died today…. ”
She’d gladly let her embrace her, planning to worry about her drenched clothes later. An arm wrapped around her shoulder as her free hand gently pulled the other’s head towards her chest, holding her like that until she finally spoke. The words almost made her shudder in place, not expecting such charged information. So much so, she slowly pulled back, staring intently at the other’s eyes.
“ I’m... so sorry to hear that. I-... ” she said before looking around, trying to make sense of what to do then — it was quite late, and surely the storm outside would be far too dangerous for her to go back home. “ Let’s get you dry and warm, yes? You can stay here for the night. ” she said calmly, guiding her further in as she maintained a faint, encouraging smile.
“ How are you feeling...? ”
