Marvel wrote that Steve adjusted healthily to Peggy living her life & her passing, but they panicked in this movie & forced a regressive narrative on him. The therapy session was atrocious. Everyone is talking about adjusting to the snap & Steve, who watched the very first person get dusted just out of reach ONCE AGAIN, who was in the battle & probably feels guilty for all of this, talks about how this woman he loved in the 40s lived a full life & passed on at 90+ years of age? It's bad writing.

yup. it sure was. >:C like, every hero has a lesson to learn or obstacle to overcome (whether during a single film or over multiple films), and steve’s entire lesson/thing to overcome was learning to move on (because that particular  negative aspect to his stubbornness was his only real character flaw) and then the creative team just decided nah! let’s give him the storybook ending and forget all about that moving forward he accomplished during the past four movies. there were so many possible ways to retire that character that did not involve his death or THAT™ ending and i just…

this is what I live for. In CATFA Steve seems so wrapped up in his own motivations ("right. Cause you got nothing to prove" and Steve being happy to be with Bucky in the war he wanted to fight in rather than.. acknowledging that Bucky was just saved from being tortured) that he doesn't understand what is gone until after the train. He's a changed man after that. He's a goal oriented person, and saving Bucky is a high priority, for better or for worse.

This comment is good and everyone should read it. Bucky’s safety and well-being is like...right up there with “saving the world from imminent destruction” for Steve post-Winter Soldier.

I only have mobile (I don’t have a computer at he moment), but your ao3 link isn’t in your header! I guess then the struggle is trying to find a post where you use the tag “my writing”. I assume the links aren’t broken but I haven’t gone that far haha. I always have your ao3 homepage open in my tabs so I never really had to go look!

Clicking the tag brings you to all your stuff tagged it. The links work. I've got an Android phone. Tumblr headers almost never work though, yours doesn't but that's not fixable.

thank you for bug testing! i googled around and it does look like there’s nothing i can do about the header. i still think it’s pretty easy to find my ao3 and even my posted snippets via the tags - personally i’ve found a lot of other people’s art and writing by going to their blog and just typing in “tagged/my-writing” or “tagged/my-art” or variations thereof, so the original questions came across to me as very “Let Me Google That For You”. 

bc like. genuinely. i am asking. is it that hard to find the links to my fics on this blog. is my perception out of whack here. when i expect someone to search the info themselves are my expectations unreasonable

I have just finished the first 4 chapters of “I've Heard That Song Before” by Nectere and I need people to know about it. And then read it and then leave gushing reviews. It’s a slow burn of nonbinary Bucky growing up and getting drafted (so far). The characters are spot on, with all their strengths and faults. The dramatic irony is especially heartbreaking. I highly recommend everyone read this. Have tissues ready.

Jamesina Buchanan Barnes was supposed to be a boy, but that never bothered her, since she didn’t usually feel like one. Of course, that lead to trouble like getting drafted or going to jail because you had been paying your taxes as “James” forever, or your best friend (who you wanted to be your best guy) falling for a British chick, and the best idiot in your platoon mooning over “Jemma Grant from Jersey.” Throw in a war, HYDRA, falling from a train, multiple trips into ice, reprogramming, torture…and well, the course of true love never did run smooth: especially for heroes.

exactly. i already made a post about it but finding my stuff all over instagram, sometimes badly edited or cropped and spending hours asking instagram accounts to remove my art from their accounts entirely made of stolen art is the reason why i’m not posting captain america art anymore.

5. Is there any fic that makes you super happy to reread and remember you wrote that?

aahh!! there should be stars because that was the one that made me want to write the book i’m writing now. the book is Extremely DIfferent but i still look back on that fic so fondly!!

7. What’s the fic you most want to continue (unfinished or no)?

okay so i started this holiday fic one year that has an AWFUL title and i never finished it and it wasn’t good at all but the premise was really fun to write and i’d honestly love to start over and write it better someday. we’ll see if i do!!! i’m garbage for 100% plotless, happy aus.

26.  What aspect of your writing do you most enjoy to see praised?

oooh goodness. i guess i always love when people compliment how i wrote a specific character. it always makes me especially happy when people like how i’ve incorporated characters’ parents in particular? like someone told me that sarah rogers was their favorite part of one of my fics and that was so so nice to hear. or when someone told me they loved seeing bucky’s dad be so nice in my writing!! it means a lot to me. i love writing about kind parents because i’m lucky enough to have kind parents.

and then it’s always so nice when people pick a particular line that spoke to them or that they reread, of course!!

30. Do you continue to write for a fandom after you’ve moved on or do you focus solely on the new one?

yeah, definitely sometimes!!! i kept writing captain america even though i’ve started really liking other things as well. i’m always secretly still Super Into steve and bucky. i just haven’t been writing fic much at all because i’ve been working on original stuff!

50. Has writing fanfic had a significant impact on your life? Would you say it’s entirely positive?

definitely! i wanted to be a writer before i started writing fic but i guess that’s what made me realize i really might be able to do it? and it’s given me a space to really practice my skills. it’s the whole reason i’m working on the projects i’m working on now!!!

i’d say writing fic has had only a positive impact on my life. fandom in general is a pretty mixed bag, though.
