Marvel wrote that Steve adjusted healthily to Peggy living her life & her passing, but they panicked in this movie & forced a regressive narrative on him. The therapy session was atrocious. Everyone is talking about adjusting to the snap & Steve, who watched the very first person get dusted just out of reach ONCE AGAIN, who was in the battle & probably feels guilty for all of this, talks about how this woman he loved in the 40s lived a full life & passed on at 90+ years of age? It's bad writing.
yup. it sure was. >:C like, every hero has a lesson to learn or obstacle to overcome (whether during a single film or over multiple films), and steveâs entire lesson/thing to overcome was learning to move on (because that particular negative aspect to his stubbornness was his only real character flaw) and then the creative team just decided nah! letâs give him the storybook ending and forget all about that moving forward he accomplished during the past four movies. there were so many possible ways to retire that character that did not involve his death or THAT⢠ending and i justâŚ
