I found out you could put PS brushes on Clip Studio Paint, so of course I had to test Bourassa's brushes and try my hand at DD style! And of course I had to draw my favorite boss. I love this rascal so damn much... :(

(Ah, the textured brush doesn’t seem to work so well as of now. Bummer.)

Some ramblings about Vvulf (like how his files name are "brigand_sapper")!

Anyhow, have you ever noticed Vvulf's in-game files are named as brigand_sapper? Apparently a sapper is a combat engineer responsible to compromise enemies' bases and stuff like that! This probably explains why Vvulf has no actual fighting skills. His job was mostly to wreck all that havoc we have to shovel through, and of course, yell and throw bombs at us. What an outstanding guy... <3

Anyways, I still need more practice on this DD style, the shadowing and the colors elude me the most. I don't plan on abandoning my other styles, it's mostly cause I want to draw 'official' looking portraits and sprites for my ocs...

As a bonus, here's a Vvulf lineart I traced from his sprite to get a feel on the lineart style of the game, before making this post's art. I might recolor this with different palettes like the heroes in game, but we'll see!

Just beat Vvulf on my switch playthrough, and even though it's my third time doing it it's still as heart-pounding as ever. He deliberately comes for you when you're not ready; if you run into him in endless mode you can bully him, but he shows up before your heroes are ready to challenge you.

And it's a damn hard mission, with some of the best art and music in the game. Nothing really compares to defending your home when all the chips are down - knowing that you could sacrifice someone to stop him at any time, but choosing the heroic path and fighting him.

My favorite Vvulf story ever though is when @tangerinemage was fighting Vvulf for the first time and his WHOLE TEAM went Virtuous to defend their home. It was cool as hell.

But yeah, Vvulf is probably my favorite mission so far in DD (not to mention the trinkets you can get 👀).
