Mikado was walking through town on the weekend, planning on going shopping for groceries, when he noticed something that didn’t seem quite right. Just across the street, there was a group of guys huddled together, almost as though they were surrounding something... or someone.

He crossed the street, quickly walking over and noticed what was going on.

“Hey, you look awfully familiar... Really pretty too. Why don’t you just come with us, alright?” The first guy leaned in a bit, getting uncomfortably close to the girl they had circled around.

He needed to step in. 

Generally, he wasn’t a bold person, not in the slightest, but if it was what needed to be done—

“—Oh, hey!! I was wondering where you went!! You’re ready to go now, right? Sorry guys, but we’ve got plans!! Let’s go!”

Mikado swooped in and took her hand, quickly leading her away from the guys who stared after them both, bewildered.

There was less concern about suddenly having to share a hotel room with Ruri Hijiribe compared to the question she posed, eyes narrowing a bit as she inspected the bed; trying to determine how big it was. Comfort was important-- just as important as getting a good nights sleep.

“-- If you are not fond of that, then I will say this now: I’m not sleeping on the futon.” To further prove her point, she sat herself down on the edge of the bed, already reaching over towards the desk near the bed; curious about what they had in terms of Room Service.

Kaneko is really confused on how Ruri actually began when it came to killing people. She only knows bits and pieces from Izaya - she was never fully interested in learning everything on her before they met face to face - but she just finds the stark difference between her persona as a star and then her identity as a serial killer strange. Of course, Kaneko doesn’t necessarily doubt that it’s not a good reason.

She actually listens to a couple of Ruri’s tracks, and knows a things about her from reading Idol magazines. Of course, she might be a bit too embarrassed to share such things with her.

She’s lowkey happy that there’s someone as fierce who is the same height as her; as silly as that might seem. Although, compared to Ruri’s sharp looks; Kaneko can’t help but sulk at how she still looks like a cinnamon roll.

She’d totally be willing to help Ruri track down Yodogiri and take him out; especially if she ever catches wind of what he has done and has forced Ruri to do. While they’re not exactly friends yet? , it would seem like the right thing to do.

Not really a headcanon but??? they would probably be badass friends??? which is always cool???

These were the types of jobs the informant wasn’t particular interested in for there... rather distasteful manner it is handle with;; but this... Well, let’s just say it caught his attention quite a bit. 

Watching the girl from a distance, he could clearly see what she had no clear objective. Izaya could take advantage of this.

Slipping his phone back into his pocket, he made a steady pace towards the girl with a small friendly smile present. Don’t want to scare her off now.

        「Ah! Excuse me miss. You seem a bit lost, do you need a guide to help you find your way around or are you just hoping for a bit of company with the way you are standing around?」

He’s been pretty shameless.. I think a younger version of him was more easily swayed, more trusting as well. He’s not cynical but he measures things more now, and he’s grown crafty. It’s interesting to think about where he was in the past and compare him to know. Just like a child, I think he looked at things in a different way in the first few years he was awake.
